Good experience at this hostel, with a great atmosphere and location. The distribution and nature of tasks could be improved, as they are numerous, and sometimes some volunteers may have more work than others. It's also necessary to improve the hostel's sanitation. Overall, a very good experience.

Work hours are respected and there are even times you finish early. Eva at reception is amazing🤩 The owners were not there to welcome you but the other volunteers explain everything and soon you are a family. Very good atmosphere. Lack of storage space in the fridge.There was an incident with some bugs and they didn't offer many solutions or medical support or anything like that...

Just a note that we did react immidiatley, sprayed all the room and offered to wash all your laundry for free and on that day there was no more bugs in the room. We know its not the most comfortable situation, but in hostels & hotels they do appear in high seasons, and we did take care if it by the procedure that works ✌️

This was my first solo volunteering experience and it was amazing!!!!! If you want to meet people, this is the place, i met a lot of volunteers that will be friends forever. Zagreb is very small so you rely on your free days to visit different places. The only negative thing I can see is that a volunteer got very ill and they told her that if she didn't work then she would have to pay the night, apart from that, i would totally recommend!!! :))) an unforgettable experience.

Thank you for a review. Just to make clear about girl that was sick. Yes we charge if its longer than 1 day what is free day in a week, but we gave 50%discount on it, and at the end she just switched a day off with another girl so at the end didnt even needed to pay ✌️

NO RECOMENDABLE, NO VENGAS. Tuve mi peor experiencia de voluntariado. Se encontró una plaga de CHINCHES (BED BUGS!!!) debajo de las camas del cuarto de voluntarios y varios se enfermaron por las picaduras, luego desinfectaron con un spray y querían que esa noche se durmiera en la misma cama. El servicio de Housekeeping es cambiar las sábanas viejas y malolientes, los colchones asquerosos y tienen manchas (suciedad, sangre, etc.), no hay personal de staff así que los “voluntarios” hacen todas las actividades. Las fotos son antiguas, así que no se dejen engañar. El PEOR hostel de Zagreb.

Silvana & Renzo stayed only 2 nights at the hostel. On the arrival in hostel they requested 2 days free in a row to go to festival. As we are in high season we couldn’t make it possible as it said on the housekeeping application we offer 1 free day per week. We found bed bugs in their room (which actually appeard in the room day after their arrival) and as we realized we started a procedure of getting rid bed bugs, washing all the linens, all the laundry from all the people in that room & vacume & spraying all the room and luggage. They hardly cooperated and didn’t want to give all their laundry to re-wash (for free) no matter we tried to explain it is important to properly react on 1st day so we don’t spread them around the hostel. In the evening they sent a messgge that they are leaving the hostel because of bed bugs problem. All the other wolrdpackers volunteers didn’t have any problem with staying as when the bed bugs appeared we immediately started to resolve the situation and there was no bed bugs any more on that day. But Renzo & Silvana obviously wanted to go to a festival, took the advantage of the situation and left the hostel in very short notice. Unfortunately sometimes bed bugs happen in the hostels but we have effective procedures to get rid of them immediately. To other hosts we WOULD NOT RECCOMMEND TO RELAY ON THEM and also to be careful that THEY COULD BRING BED BUGS with them as they didnt want to cooperate & give us to wash all their clothes and that you can’t count on them. Also we could just move them to another room they didn’t need to leave hostel immediately putting us in a position where we are two volunteers short.

NO RECOMIENDO. Por la seguridad de próximos voluntarios les cuento mi experiencia. El primer día que llegué noté que estaba descuidado y sucio (las fotos que publicita son antiguas), nuestra tarea era hacer housekiping, las almohadas y colchones tenían hongos y manchas amarillas, nos hacían lavar las sábanas en la misma lavadora donde se lavan los trapos para limpiar los inodoros. Y lo peor es que 2 compañeras sufrieron fuertes picaduras por chinches, HABÍA UNA PLAGA EN TODAS LAS CAMAS DEL HOSTEL. Lo peor que Anja y Mia decían que era algo recurrente :/

This year I wanted to volunteer at a place where I could meet people and I believe that the hostel fulfilled my wish. we worked from 11-15 as agreed and the tasks were manageable and pretty easy. the organization was a bit chaotic and the volunteers pretty much taught each other, the owners and workers did not really care that much about us (understandable since there were a lot of people coming and going) the whole experience was more about the other volunteers, I was very lucky bcs i was there with an amazing group of people who made the experience unforgettable, I miss them already.

I had a really nice stay. There is a lot of other volunteers. The work is easy and hours are respected. You live in a room with 5 other people with one bathroom. However, I became sick during my stay, and the host told me that if I dont work, I have to pay for my stay at the hostel, which I find a bit odd.

It was a truly useful and challenging experience. I could speak english and spanish and learn how to manage different tasks in the hostel. I improved my ability to solve problems and met people from all over the world . Eva and Mia helped me at all times and made me feel at home. Thank you very much❤️

This was my first volunteering experience and I really enjoyed it! The other volunteers immediately made me feel so welcome and we became like a family. The housekeeping work is easy and would often be finished within 2-3 hours so plenty of free time to explore Zagreb, and the centre is very easy to reach by tram. There was never any confusion about what needed to be done and Mia and Eva were helpful when minor situations arose. All I can say is it gets quite hot when working, so be ready to sweat! I definitely would recommend the hostel if you're looking to meet some great people :)

The other voluntaries were really nice, so the exspirience was nice! The hostel is nothing of special, I would not chose it us a guest!
