As my first volunteering experience, I can say everything was perfect. Alessio is an such an amazing host and kind person, he was always there in case I needed anything. The working hours are very chill and the work is easy, but what I loved the most was meeting new people everyday and making friends all around the world. I enjoyed it so much that I extended my volunteering, and Alessio was very welcoming about it. 10/10, would go back in a heartbeat! It truly felt like a home away from home ❤️

I had a wonderful time at the hostel. The work was really easy and quick to do. The hostel is very clean and is super equipped. You always find fast connection and are welcomed with open arms. The area of Puglia is just fantastic to spend a month there!

La experiencia ha sido de las más enriquecedoras que he tenido pues he logrado mejorar mis habilidades sociales y de trabajo en equipo, asi también he aprendido más de la cultura italiana. Alexio es una persona muy amable, alegre y siempre dispuesto a ayudar en lo que necesites. el ambiente en el hostel es muy agradable y divertido. Recomiendo mucho la experiencia y agradezco mucha la oportunidad de hacer el voluntariado en el hostel Hostal.

I had a great time at the hostel, the hostel itself is lovely and the staff are very kind. I unfortunately did not stay for the whole month as it is currently low tourist season so I was unable to socialize and take part in the daily activities at the hostel. I would highly recommend for summer season!

My stay in the hostel was great. Everyone was very welcoming and the place was lovely. I met great people during my stay, especially the other volunteers who were amazing. Concerning the work, the shifts were always respected and we had a lot of free time. The work was not difficult and Suthan is always there if you have any questions ( he also makes very nice food).

Mi primer experiencia como voluntario, fue muy gratificante en conocimientos y el contacto con otros viajeros. El encargado de mantenimiento es una persona muy bondadosa y buena onda, el me hizo sentir como en casa. Aunque las barreras idiomáticas eran muy fuertes, logramos entendernos, ayudarnos mutuamente y aprender sobre el intercambio cultural. Italia es un país maravilloso, por supuesto el mejor lugar para comer rico y ver paisajes únicos. Lecce es una ciudad tranquila y con edificaciones muy apreciables, el barroco, colores crema, verde y chocolate, le dan identidad. Muchas gracias

Prepare-se para comer pasta e tomar vinho todos os dias! Os funcionários viraram uma familia longe de casa, sei que sempre terei um pedacinho do meu coração em Puglia, e agradeço demais pelo carinho. Sobre o voluntariado: o trabalho foi super tranquilo, era basicamente preparar a mesa do café, limpar e arrumar as camas, não teve passeios, coisa que senti falta.. e como eu fui fora de temporada, em outubro, não haviam mais ônibus na cidade e para ir para as praias e outras cidades era preciso ir de trem (levava 1h pra mais) ent prepare-se para alguns dias só abraçar il dolce far niente 😂

Tuve mala suerte porque en el mes en el que estuve apenas hubo huéspedes y no se hacían actividades. Las tareas son muy fáciles y apenas llevan 3 horas al día, un poco repetitivo sin actividades y solo éramos dos voluntarias. La habitación de los voluntarios es compartida también con Suthan, otro trabajador del hostel que vive allí. El hostel está alejado del centro, como 25 minutos , la zona es un poco mala porque está en zona industrial donde no hay nada. Ir a la playa es difícil y lleva mucho tiempo por los horarios y por lo mal que funciona el bus.

The hostel had a very good structure, quite new and clean, but during the time I was there, it didn't have many guests and there were no activities. When we had the meeting, it was supposed to be to help with activities and go to the beach with the guests, but that didn't happen. The work at breakfast and cleaning was okay, however, the staff didn't speak much English, which made it difficult to interact. The hostel is a bit far from the city center, 20 minutes by bus to the center, and another 1 hour to the beach.
