My experience in Sarajevo and the hostel was incredible from the first moment. I am very grateful for the work team that I had because they made my time in the city wonderful. It is definitely a place that I recommend because it is a beautiful city and Ivan, Denis and Alisa are going to make your stay at the hostel very enriching.

It is our pleasure that we have been able to work with Juan, who has been one of the most exceptional volunteers we've ever had the privilege to work with. From day one Juan consistently went above and beyond what was asked of him. He brought a level of reliability, initiative, and positivity that elevated the entire team. Not only was he efficient and organized, but he also brought warmth, kindness and a collaborative spirit to everything he did.
He will always be welcomed back to our family!

Denis, Aida, Alissa and the other volunteers were incredible. Sadly, I left early because Ivan, the owner, made things difficult. He is not allowed by law to have volunteers in Sarajevo, as he told us. He was unapproachable & unwilling to listen to suggestions. Shift schedules were always delayed and even after finishing our tasks early, we weren't allowed to leave and he created things to do. The first week I worked 7 days straight. Volunteers deserve respect and clear communication—two things that were clearly missing. Hosting volunteers requires more responsibility and basic human decency.

I 100% recommend volunteering here. A very warm human group, the tasks are really to help the stuff, plus the environment is like an old renovated house, plus the rest you will feel at home. The location of the hostel is excellent, in the center of the city. You will have one day off a week and they are flexible about your day off if you agree in advance and the tasks can be reception or cleaning, but nothing heavy, it's really a volunteering. I will always be grateful to Alisa, Aida, Denis, Ivan and my roommate Luisa.

My experience at the hostel was absolutely wonderful! Ivan and the team made me feel so welcome at the hostel and in Bosnia, and I felt so respected and supported there. It's a smaller hostel with only a handful of employees, and thus has such a close-knit vibe that made it feel like a second home to me by the end! And Sarajevo is such an amazing city that I could never get tired of exploring. I absolutely recommend volunteering here, both for the great culture at the hostel and for the lovely city! A million thanks to the hostel team for everything, I'll carry this with me forever <3

Ha sido mi primera gran experiencia como voluntaria. el hostel es una gran familia, muchísima gracias por recibirnos Ivan, Alisa, Aida y Denis. No han hecho otra cosa que preocuparse por nuestro bienestar y salud, hemos recibido un excelente trato. Las horas pactadas se respetan y el trabajo no es para nada pesado, incluso en días muy ocupados. Nos hemos sentido muy cómodos y a gusto, sin dudas recomendamos 100% esta experiencia.

My experience at the hostel was amazing! truly a home away from home, i even ended up extending my stay. The work is simple and easily manageable. Ivan, Alisa & Denis were so welcoming and supportive. I would consider them very good friends and will always come to visit them if i am back in Bosnia! There is a 2 bed volunteer room which is nice to get some privacy. I would 100% recommend this experience to anyone willing and able to help out and complete the work agreed on!! The hostel has become a home away from home, all the staff is very welcoming and caring. The shifts are respected and the tasks are simple enough and manageable. The location is unbeatable to go to different parts of the city or other cities, I loved my time in the hostel, thank you Ivan, Dennis, Alisa, Aida and Paige <3

Staying at the Vagabonds Hostel was a really nice experience. The hostel receives people from all over the world, so it's easy to make new friends and learn more from different cultures. The employees are always nice and caring. Had a great time there working with Alisa, Denis and Uma. The tasks are easy and always done together, which gives you more free time to explore the city. Sarajevo is truly charming, and its people are incredibly welcoming.
