I had a great time at Carcavelos Surf Hostel. The atmosphere among the volunteers and the manager was always warm and welcoming.
Working hours are respected, and the work itself only involves light tasks (cleaning and assisting with check-ins and check-outs at the reception).
The hostel has a very good location. The beach and the train station are just a few minutes away. There is plenty of time to explore Lisbon and the surrounding area!!

Coming back to Carcavelos Surf Hostel for a second time as a volunteer felt just as exciting as the first. The vibe is still super chill, with people from all over the world, which makes it really easy to connect and feel at home. Spending Christmas together was a special moment and showed how strong the sense of community is here. Once again, it was the perfect balance between helping out, meeting new people, and continuing to explore Portugal!

I had an excellent time at Carcavelos Surf Hostel. Vitor, the host, and all the other volunteers were very friendly and welcoming as soon as I arrived. The working hours were well respected and the work itself is quite chill, although I was here in the off season. The nearby beach, just a 5 minute walk, is great for surfing and other outdoor activities. I had a great experience, would recommend.

Carcavelos was a really nice and crazy place for us! The other workers were super open and we felt much welcomed🫰 The work was simple and easy to do! We would really recommend this place, since it also has a nice location and there’s lots to do!! If you go there you should be able to live with the other volunteers in a small place, but this is where the friendships begins🫶🏼 Love them all

I loved my first volunteer experience at a hostel. The atmosphere was relaxed, international, and full of positive energy. I met fantastic and, above all, very helpful people, improved my communication skills, and learned to challenge myself. It's located just steps from Carcavelos beach, perfect for those who want to learn to surf, or for anyone who wants to discover a little of Portugal. Thanks for everything!!! 🫶🏻🫶🏻
