My experience with Doris and Mario was amazing. They are great hosts who want to practice English and to know people around the globe, in exchange of keeping their house tidy and taking care of their cute cat Pige. The experience of visiting Switzerland for the first time, and with them being the first people I met, will not be forgotten. I totally recommend this volunteer position if you want to immerse yourself locally in the Swiss-German side and would like company of incredible hosts. Thank you Doris and Mario! My experience at the home couldn't have been better. I was very well received from the first moment! Doris and Mário are excellent hosts! The house is beautiful and comfortable, the tasks were simple and everything went as planned. The time I worked allowed me to have a good time at the lake and get to know the region. Doris cooks wonderfully and I was able to try several traditional Swiss dishes. Mário was very kind and printed maps to help me make plans for my days off. And Pige, the diva cat was great company in my days. I really felt at home! I just have to thank you! :)

Doris and Mario provide an excellent opportunity for volunteers to get a real feel for Swiss living and culture. From the moment I arrived I felt welcome and comfortable in their home. Doris is an excellent cook and provided delicious, nutritious meals that adhered to my extensive and restrictive dietary requirements. Mario and Doris shared their knowledge and provided current and historical information about the local and extended area. Doris and Mario offer a very fair exchange that involves very manageable work and flexible hours. Thank you both, an experience to be forever cherished :)

Doris and Mario were fantastic hosts. This was my first Worldpackers experience and I'm so glad I applied here. The tasks can be completed in a few hours. Doris is an amazing cook and you will be introduced to many aspects of Swiss culture and food. I had plenty of free time and was able to take many day trips in Switzerland, as well as Austria and Germany. You can easily travel around using public transportation. Even in winter (Feb) I was able to hike on many mountain trails. Their home is a welcoming and cozy place that allowed me to truly enjoy my stay near Lake Constance.

I Couldn't have had a better first volunteer work experience than at the home! Mario and Doris are so respectul, generous and welcoming people. The tasks are very easy and the place is very cozzy , you can feel a warm family enviroment. I had a lot of time for travelling around , the town is beautiful and very relaxing place to walk. I really enjoyed my time here and for sure I want to come back one day! Thank you so much Mario and Doris for a lovely experience!

It was my 2nd time visting these hosts and it was like meeting old friends. (Look at my prior reveiw) Doris & Mario are great people and generous hosts. I trully enjoyed our time together and helping preparing for the Christmas celebration. I got used to the choirs the 1st time around (mainly household and cooking), so they were like a second nature to me. Doris & Mario are really appreciative when you help them and show initiative. They are great in advising you what to do around the town or Switzeland. This is great opportunity for an independent person, who loves nature and cultures.

Doris and Mario were great hostess. they made me feel like home since the first day I arrived. I really enjoyed my stay at their house. Doris is a great cook and learned a lot from her. I enjoyed teaching her some mexican food as well which I think they liked. They both treat you with respect and are always there for any question. I had the chance to see some of the city and St Gallen as well which are beautiful. thank you Mario and Doris for a pleasant time!

My experience at the home was one of the best volunteering opportunities I've ever had the pleasure of working at. Doris and Mario are a very the home couple and make you feel a part of their family. They make sure you settle in well, have lots of free time to do activities, and give you great food. I am very happy I got the chance to participate in this opportunity and will hope to do it again some day. I got to experience true Swiss life at this volunteer role and will remember it forever. Highly recommend to anyone who is interested in learning Swiss culture and lifestyle. It was an exceptional homestay experience! Doris and Mario are super nice! Tasks are simple; hours are repected and you'll have a private room with great view, especially whenever there is a rainbow. It is a beautiful and peaceful place! Doris is the best cook and always happy to share her knowledge of local, in season ingredients, and Swiss food! Mario is the kindest, always there to help if you have any questions and has lots of tips and recommendations for your trips! Thank you guys so much!

I am incredibly grateful for meeting Doris and Mario and being part of this adventurous experience! It exceeded my expectations. I will try to describe it in 5 words to be brief and give everyone else an understanding of how great these people are. These words are Respect, Kindness Generosity, Discovery, and Friendship. Doris and Mario are great people! They welcomed me to their home and treated me like a member of the family. The choirs involved taking care of the different aspects of the household and the cat, Pige. In exchange, you will discover this beautiful part of Switzerland.
