I had a really great time at Alpen Retreat. In the beginning I felt that my expectations weren't met based on what I had read on Worldpackers, but I raised my concerns and they were heard and responded to. The team were really great. The location is stunning. I experienced some of the most beautiful views I've ever seen and fell in love with the mountains. The leaders of the volunteers were amazing, I felt respected, they were flexible and compassionate, this made the work enjoyable and fulfilling.

I had an amazing time at Alpen Retreat and met so many amazing people. I definitely got to reconnect with nature and learned so much about myself during my stay. I will say there were quite a few times I went over my hours and that was a bit hard for me, and although during a lot of my stay we did not have a full team, it was something that wasn't really fully addressed and was kind of expected. The good heavily outweighs the bad though, and I am super grateful for my time here and for all the beautiful people I got to meet during my visit! I would love to come back some day :)

We're really sorry if you found that the work load was too much at times or that we had a lack of volunteers. Sometimes this happens here, we always try to bring the balance in other ways and feel that there is also a lot of down time. Things are never perfect anywhere but as you know we try our best as best we can.
I'm very happy for all the good that happened here for you here because I think there was a lot and once again thank you for all the help and efforts you contribruted we really appreciate it.

Cuando llegué a Alpen Retreat no tenía mucha idea de lo que me esperaba, es mi primer voluntariado y estaba un poco nerviosa, sin embargo, en pocos días me sentí como en casa. Elly, Wolfgang y todo el grupo de voluntarios han hecho de mi experiencia aquí, algo inolvidable. Con respecto al trabajo realizado, es tal cual se encuentra en la descripción, son turnos claros con tareas específicas. De igual manera, los beneficios recibidos. No tengo más que palabras de agradecimiento infinito por un verano increíble en el Tirol.

I enjoyed my experience at the Alpen retreat! Elly and Wolfgang are such lovely and understanding people and will be flexible for your needs and wants! I was only here a month but i felt at home within a few weeks:) The work is quite easy and straightforward and you will always have time to relax and have some time for yourself! The accommodation for the volunteers is cosy and simple. The meals were very good and Elly is open for you to be creative within the kitchen! my time spent here helped me develop and connect with myself and nature, a very good first volunteer experience:)

I instantly felt welcomed by Elly, Wolfgang and the other volunteers. I was welcomed with big hugs and smiling faces. I never once doubted if I belonged at Alpen Retreat and that was a very important feeling to me. The work exchange was great with working 6 hours a day helping with cleaning, cooking and other various task. I learned so much just within the 4 weeks I was there such as yoga, meditation & cooking. I feel like I'm truly coming back into “the real world” wanting to live a healthier lifestyle because of Alpen Retreat. Can't wait to come back 💗

I loved my time at Alpen Retreat. The hosts and other volunteers are so welcoming and lovely and I felt part of a beautiful community. I learned a lot and loved being in such a beautiful environment both in the retreat and with the surrounding mountains and lakes! It was also great for my dietary requirements which made me feel even more at home. Would highly recommend:))

It was a wonderful experience, Elly and Wolfgang are amazing people and the whole the Center team is spectacular. It was my first volunteer and I am completely grateful for everything, it was months that changed my life and certainly helped me and become a better person. The work is very quiet and everything is explained with a lot of affection and attention, you feel part of the family and learn much more than you could imagine. Without a doubt I will return to the Center and recommend it to everyone who wants to experience an incredible journey.

Alpen retreat was my very first Worldpackers experience, also my first time solo traveling abroad or ever going to Europe! It was truly a magical experience, I arrived at night time with a friend that I met a few days before, and was welcomed in with hugs and warm food by all of the other volunteers that stayed up waiting for us to get there :) Elly is such an incredibly sweet soul, her and Wolfgang are very accommodating to any schedule change needed, they invite us to participate in activities whenever possible :) and the food is really great! I learned so much about plant based diets

Mi estadía en Alpen fue maravillosa, desde el primer momento me sentí en mi Hogar. Los anfitriones junto a su hijo colman de amor el Centro, en cada detalle en el día a día se puede sentir el amor y dedicación. En cuanto al Team, en mis cuatro meses conocí varios compañeros voluntarios y viví experiencias hermosas con ellos. Sobre los cursos y talleres, pude tomar los que se dictan en inglés (ya que no hablo alemán) y fueron transformadores para continuar aprendiendo sobre yoga, nuevas prácticas orientales y conectar con personas de todas partes del mundo. Full recomiendo esta experiencia <3

That experience for me was incredible, I felt like home since the first day. The people were my family during the 2 months I spent there and they will keep in my heart forever. The owners are very kind and their child is a special and cute kid 🥰. The food is totally delicious and the landscapes that surround the Retreat are completely beautiful. I'm very grateful to Alpen Yoga Retreat, this experience will stay in my heart forever. Thank youu Elly & Wolfgang ❤️❤️❤️
