Helen and her other volunteers were very helpful in getting me there and making me feel welcome. It was a unique experience but a little different than I had expected and I sadly couldn't complete my stay but feel free to message me with any specific questions.

Volunteering in the shelter it's such a life experience. Challenging sometimes, it's definitely not an experience for everyone. In the winter it can be really cold and you have to make your own fires in the house. Tasks will be easier if you have experience with dogs, but with a proactive attitude you will learn a lot. The dogs are lovely! You get to spend time with them and in nature too. Helen does a weekly grocery shopping and it's good to communicate with the other volunteers for the sharing. Thank you Helen for the opportunity, and Floor, Alex, Candela and Gonzalo for the good times!

My experience in the shelter was amazing, Helen really knows about working with volunteers. Is a very nice host and the experience is perfect for people who is looking for get in touch with nature and mainly, learn about dogs. Tasks include cleaning, feeding and walking the dogs, is not difficult and you have plenty free time to go around with the dogs. Sometimes Helen needs other kind of tasks like fixing fences, handyman or help with the shops. All the tasks, times, days off and food were well communicated and agreeded, and everything was respected always. Really recommended!

I decided to stay for an extended period of time, and from start to finish it was wonderful, the dogs were great and they were very affectionate too, like everything in life there were problems, but it was never something that made me reconsider going, definitely one of the best experiences I've had in my life.

The shelter is a wonderful experience. You create really good bonds with the dogs and get to know other volunteers. The work is easy and repetitive so you'll know the routines of the shelter in a day or two. I really loved working here!

Estuvimos muy a gusto en este lugar, hicimos un gran equipo de trabajo con los otros voluntarios y la anfitriona, que siempre estuvo pendiente de nosotros. Helen fue amigable, cumplió con todo lo pactado y nos enseñó muchas cosas sobre el cuidado de los perros. la casa es muy cómoda y tiene paisajes muy bonitos. Los perros son amorosos y de fácil cuidado. Hay que tener en cuenta para los otros voluntarios que el traslado desde vratsa a la casa cuesta 30 levas si la anfitriona no está disponible para recogerlos. Volveríamos nuevamente porque fue una experiencia 10/10

The sanctuary has so many dogs that are lovely and also they love attention. This place you will become friendly with the dogs and have a good experience if you like them. Helen really gives the best effort to take care of the dogs as much as possible.
