BCHF KENYA
Blessed Children’s Hope Foundation (BCHF) was founded 14 years ago from a simple but powerful desire: to bring hope, dignity, and opportunity to disadvantaged children and families. What started as a small act of compassion has grown into a committed mission to create real and lasting change through practical, sustainable solutions.
At BCHF, we walk alongside communities to improve lives in meaningful ways. We support access to quality education, healthcare, clean water, nutritious food, safe spaces for play, and programs that help families become self-reliant. We believe that when basic needs are met and people are empowered with skills and knowledge, communities gain the strength to build their own future.
Our work is guided by values we live out every day. As Ambassadors of Hope, we choose kindness, encouragement, and optimism even in challenging situations. Through Responsiveness, we act quickly and compassionately when urgent needs arise. We are committed to Equal Opportunity, ensuring every child and family has fair access to essential services. And through Partnership in Development, we work hand in hand with communities, volunteers, and supporters, knowing that lasting change is built together.
Our programs span education, agriculture, healthcare, and sports, while also promoting health awareness, family counseling, and life-skills training. Each initiative is thoughtfully designed to uplift individuals, restore confidence, and open doors to a brighter tomorrow.
Volunteering with BCHF means becoming part of a caring family that is truly making a difference. Whether you are teaching, mentoring, building, supporting projects, or simply sharing your time and heart, your contribution matters. Together, we can nurture hope, transform lives, and create a future where every child has the chance to grow, dream, and thrive.
We are a humble, warm, and welcoming team that truly enjoys meeting new people and learning from different cultures. Hosting volunteers is a joy for us, and we are always excited to open our doors and hearts to those who join our community. We value new ideas and shared experiences, and we look forward to finding meaningful ways to support one another as we work together to create positive, lasting change. You are genuinely welcome here.
Important Information for Volunteers
Daily Contribution
To help cover basic running costs, we kindly request a daily contribution of €10. This includes accommodation, clean drinking water, and three healthy, traditional Kenyan meals each day. If you are interested, you will also have the chance to learn how to prepare some of these local dishes and enjoy the culture through food.
Accommodation
Volunteers stay in our mission home, just a short walking distance from the project site. The home is safe, comfortable, and provides a friendly environment where volunteers can relax, connect with one another, and become part of the local community.
Transportation
We offer personal airport pick-up and drop-off services at a cost of €50 each way. The journey from the airport to the project takes approximately six hours.
As an added highlight, our project is located near the world-famous Maasai Mara National Reserve. If you wish, we can help organize a three-day safari, giving you the opportunity to experience Kenya’s stunning landscapes, wildlife, and rich cultural heritage.
Volunteer Tips
Our school and community work with limited resources, so flexibility, creativity, and patience are very important. Some days may be challenging, but there is always meaningful work to be done. Your willingness to help, your positive attitude, and your presence make a real difference.
Support Our Mission
We gently encourage volunteers to consider fundraising for BCHF before or during their stay. Any support raised goes directly toward projects that benefit children and families in need. We deeply appreciate all forms of contribution, whether financial, educational, artistic, technical, or hands-on, and we are always happy to hear your ideas on how we can grow and improve our programs.
BCHF 2025 Finished Projects
In 2025, we were able to complete several important projects that greatly improved the well-being and learning environment of our children and community. These include water purification to provide safe drinking water, renovation of classrooms to create better learning spaces, construction of washrooms to improve hygiene and sanitation, and the development of a playground to support children’s physical growth and happiness.
BCHF 2026 Planned Projects
Looking ahead to 2026, we are committed to expanding our impact through the following planned projects. These include a borehole water project to ensure reliable access to clean water, a fish farming project to support nutrition and income generation, a chicken project to enhance food security, construction of a computer room and library, and equipping the library and computer class with learning materials and technology. Together, we continue building a better future for our children.
Thank You
Thank you for considering joining our mission. We look forward to welcoming you, working alongside you, and sharing this journey of hope and service together.
