La Experiencia

Pruning olive trees it is like a workout hauling or drag small branches on the olive grove up. The help mainly is to cut small branches by hand with with large garden shears or secateurs and pick-up by hand and move and carry them to a wood pile and move branches in a row in order to be later chipped in small pieces in June for organic composting.

Pietro is the kind of person who really cares for others. He goes above and beyond to help volunteers feel safe and heard. He's communicative & straightforward. He'll teach you the about Italian culture. He opened his home to me & shared about his family. I was having a particularly sad day one day and he sat down and spoke with me in a reassuring way. His level of hospitality is something that will stay with me for a lifetime. Thank you again for this opportunity. 🤲🏽 ❤️

Our experience was amazing! We met really friendly people and had a great time together. The work itself was also fun. It felt great working in the nature and the time flew by really quickly. So overall, it was an amazing experience that we can definitely recommend!

My time in Campofiorito was great! I learned a lot in my two weeks. You're working with others (around 10) so it's super nice having a group to work and eat meals with, but definitely something to take into account that you'll be living with 10 others. The work itself was very fair, we got a coffee break and a lunch break which split the work up nicely, and we never worked past 315/330. You also get the weekends to explore the area. Overall a great experience to learn more about the farm harvesting, meet people from all different places, and spend time in the Sicilian countryside.

Pietro is a great host who's deeply passionate about his the farm grove and shares his passion with you through his vast knowledge of the farm farming. You'll spend the days working with a team at the farm grove. If you enjoy being in nature and like hands-on, physically engaging work, you will appreciate this experience. I enjoyed the sense of community I found with my fellow volunteers through cooking amazing dishes together and respectful conversation. All together, if you're ready to put in the work and want to get an authentic and rewarding experience, I highly recommend Pietro's the farm grove!
