My experience was not as expected, although the work is as agreed Jo did not explain to us how to do it. Unfortunately I didn't feel comfortable in his house, I felt like I was bothering him. It would be interesting to improve his communication with the next volunteers

Sara that isn't quite honest is it . when you came you had a manager from Brasil - in your language train you so it cant be an excuse to say you were not shown . you were . You are not an honest person , we know that anyway. - taking food that isn't yours - messy - not cleaning after yourself . you need to work on looking outwards rather than just inwards

Fiquei apenas um dia nesse voluntariado, pois não me senti segura para continuar. Jô é um homem que vive com seus dois gatos e, apesar de me receber bem inicialmente, ofereceu um trabalho diferente. Inscrevi-me para atuar com as vans, mas fui direcionada para uma construção, com tarefas pesadas. Além disso, ele tem expectativas altas e pode ficar impaciente se algo não for feito como deseja, principalmente se algum gato fugir. Não sou "improfissional", apenas não aceito situações que comprometam meu bem-estar. 😉

it does say on advert building and repair work - so should her no surprise . and hardly heavy work you were stripping wallpaper

I want to thank you for the experience; overall, it was very good. The cats are super cute, although you have to be careful when taking them out because if one escapes, you have to run after it. I also want to acknowledge Jo's hard work and dedication—she is a very hardworking person. However, I felt that there was little communication with me, as she mostly communicated with my colleague. I would have liked to have more interaction with the campers since I was interested in learning about that area, but I didn't have many opportunities to do so.

I highly recommend this experience to everyone. First we started every day by taking Tom and Jerry to the garden for about 20 minutes, and then we went to work. The task were very varied, from cleaning the vans, attending customers, fixing dents, painting.. I especially recommend it to people who enjoy doing activities en group and living with others, as we all lived in an apartment together, and that's essential. I couldn't be more grateful for having the opportunity to live this experience. It has been very enriching , personally and professionally. Jo, thank you for everything!

I had a really great time here! We were really like a family, we cooked and ate together, talking about everything. Jo sometimes made healthy juice for us! He really cares about how the volunteers feel. And he is really generous! The work hours are never over 6 hours, I learned a lot from the work, for example, painting, repairing the car, even building the camper from scratch! And at home there is piano, violin and Ukulele, so if you like music, this place will be even much funnier for you. Some weekend we also ate out together!! I will miss the time here and would recommend you to come:)

When they say that here you feel like family, it is the purest truth. Jo's house is a place where you feel comfortable and welcomed. The two cats (Tom & Jerry) are precious, each with their own personality, capturing your heart. Jo is an artist who dedicates his brilliant mind to the business, not for himself, but for animals. The girls I volunteered with were so special that words fail to describe them. I will miss our blanket family so much! 🥹 Jo, it was an honor to be part, and I am absolutely certain that your family grows with each volunteer that comes through here! Best lucky ❤️

My experience at OTC was amazing. Jo and the other volunteers made it feel like home, I miss the dinners and going to escape rooms together, we had such a great time. The job was easy and the hours were respected. We had a lot of free time to explore Edinburgh, and Jo even let us take a van for a day trip, which was awesome. Also, the apartment is very comfortable, and I already miss Tom and Jerry! Thanks, Jo, for the great experience, and I wish you the best! :)

Jo is an absolute amazing person who really strives to make the world a better place. He really cares for all of his volunteers and tries to make everyone feel at home. Sometimes you do go over the allotted hours but that's just life and it's easy work so no one minds and you can get an extra time off the next week. He let me and another volunteer take a van for the day and it was amazing to adventure through Scotland for a bit!

Being a volunteer on the camping was AMAZING I met amazing people and it felt like a family all the time. The job is really easy to do and fast you have a lot of free time to visit Edinburgh or another city also Jo let us take the vans to do trips so you can actually go to the highlands and the isle ( I went into isle arran) Jo has 2 cats Tom and Jerry, I fall in love with Jerry they are both so nice! And really cute 🥰 And Jo it was the best he was really nice with us, we went to a lot of shows all together he makes you feel like you are part of the family! 🫶🏻🫶🏻 I will misss you!!!

Que experiência incrível! Foi meu primeiro voluntariado e eu não poderia ter escolhido melhor. Todos tiveram muita paciência com minha conversação e me ajudaram muito a desenvolver o inglês. As horas são cumpridas corretamente e se você tiver um dia mais longo, recebe dias extras de folga. Jo, muito obrigada pela oportunidade, você fez-me sentir em casa, muito educado e prestativo (obrigada pelas toneladas de cafés). As voluntárias, vocês adentraram meu trevoso coração, muito obrigada por cada momento único. Palavras não expressam meus sentimentos por compartilhar tanto com vocês. Cheers! 🖤
