I spent a month volunteering at this hostel and it was an amazing experience. The team and the other volunteers were incredibly warm and open – I felt welcome from the very first day. The tasks were well explained, easy to manage, and never stressful, as there was always support from the team. The atmosphere was relaxed and felt like a family. If you're looking for a special place to work or stay, this is definitely the right spot!

Where should I begin, my volunteering experience at the hostel was absolutely amazing! The team of volunteers and staff made me feel at home from day one and I always felt supported and safe. The tasks were easy to understand and I always had someone by my side if I needed help. The hostel's location was perfect, just minutes from the fabulous beach and surf school. I'm incredibly grateful for all the memories I've made here and would recommend this place to anyone looking for a new adventure. This place will always hold a special spot in my heart❤️

Clara stay with us was really good, she came in a busy period but she handle everything really well. She learned everything quickly and had no issues doing any of the tasks required.
She got along with everyone both staff and guest's.

The hostel was an amazing hostel to volunteer at. Their motto, "Home away from home" really describes the vibe of the hostel. I am truly grateful for all the people I met, for the welcoming atmosphere at the hostel, and overall for the month I got to live the LSH lifestyle. I would 100% come back to this volunteer opportunity and would without hesitation recommend it to everybody who is looking for a great volunteer experience:)

Pia stay with us was really good, she came in a busy period but she handle everything really well. She learned everything quickly and had no issues doing any of the tasks required. She would handle her shift really well on her own and is a really hard worker.
She got along super well, with everyone both staff and guest's, she's a really kind soul.

This volunteering was amazingly perfect! i loved every part of it. the girls that i got to live and work with, are now my sisters and the people at the hostel is the kindest and most welcoming ever. all the task are well explained and it's super easy to get them done, you don't need a previous experience. the hostel has a perfect location and you are able to meet lots of people since there are lots of groups from all over the world coming to stay there. super grateful for this opportunity, wouldn't change anything of it🩷

Paula is young but mature and we are really happy that she came, she as a wonderful energy and is really sweet.

I truly loved my time at the the hostel, everything from the staff to the other volunteers to carcavelos is almost tailor made to guarantee that no matter who you are you will have an amazing time. The work is very clearly laid out but even on days where there is a lot to do I never worked alone and there was always support and appreciation for the work the volunteers did. This place allowed me to learn new things and meet the loveliest people and I highly recommend it to anyone considering applying !

The experience at the hostel was absolutely fantastic, I couldn't be more satisfied and happy. In no time, I felt at home, immersed in a truly welcoming and inspiring atmosphere. This was primarily thanks to every member of the staff—I found everyone to be kind and always available, welcoming me in the best possible way. The tasks required of volunteers are simple and well-explained, the working hours are well-balanced, and there is always someone ready to help with any doubts! Moreover, the place is wonderful, just five minutes from the ocean! I highly recommend it whitout hesitation!

Volunteering at LSH felt like a month-long dream. I'm truly grateful for the time shared with my fellow volunteers, who grew closer with each passing day, and the managers (Bia, Rodrigo, and Nuno), who made this experience so special. The balance between work and free time was the best I've had yet, giving us plenty of time to surf, hike, and explore the hostel. I can't wait to return to LSH and see everyone who made it so memorable! 🫶

As soon as I arrived to LSH I felt so comfortable, it was actually crazy, everything was so nice, I felt I was living the time of my life, just working, surfing, and meeting new people. The managers Nuno and Rodrigo are the chillest and coolest guys ever, they set the bar way too high for my upcomings bosses. Everyone clicked with each other, it really felt like a family between the volunteers, Bia being the mom of all of us, making sure we were doing good and doing our job, but also being there as a really good friend, Im going to miss her a lot. Can't wait to go back!

Surfing was super accessible. Great breakfast, great management, great hostel. Fun place to hang out at, very easy to get into the hostel as the hostel is just down the road from the train station. Just a quick walk from the beach, this place is awesome!
