The owner Howard is the best very friendly and welcoming. Shows you all the ropes and spots to go in town. such a chill environment great way to meet new people. If you go there alone, you leave with friends. Flexible work environment and great place to hang out. Fell in love with malacca and the guest house, chill town with spots to go out on the weekends, all friendly travelers, and locals. The work was not too difficult washing sheets, showing people around the hostel and introducing them to each other. Some vacuuming and other cleaning tasks.

This was my first volunteer work and I really enjoyed it! The other volunteers and Howard welcomed me and I immediately felt like part of the family. The tasks were very easy to learn and you could always ask Howard if you didn't understand something. The guest house is the perfect place for meeting backpackers from all over the world. I recommend this place 100% :))

I felt very welcomed at the guest house from day one and had a great 3 week-long experience. Howard and his family are very kind and friendly and always give the best tips and recommendations. The work is pretty simple and straightforward, working hours are clear but flexible, and the day off is given accordingly. During my time volunteering there, I had the chance to connect with other amazing volunteers and travelers. That's definitely the highlight of this position in my opinion. Strongly recommend it!

This is the best volunteer I've ever been to, Howard and his family are so welcoming, they make you feel part of the family, you will learn a lot about the culture and you get to meet a lot of people local and foreign. I would love to go back as soon as I have the opportunity.

My experience in the guest house was really good, i was working 4 hours per day in the reception and I had the chance of meeting guests from all over the world, i felt like one more guest so we were playing board games and going for dinner and beers every night. My mates were very helpful and nice with me and Howard who is the owner is the most friendly person i've ever mate. My goal doing the volunteer was to learn about working in a hostel, and it was very fun and easy. I really enjoy Malacca, it's a beautiful city to visit with many activities to do. Thanks Howard! I'll be back!!
