The people were incredibly warm and welcoming, creating such a positive and peaceful atmosphere. The energy here is just full of good vibes, and I'm so grateful for the time I spent in this beautiful community!

This was my first experience as a volunteer and it has been truly wonderful. It has allowed me to see things from a different perspective and has given me the opportunity to connect with other travelers and my surroundings. It is for everyone, but if you are interested in Buddhism this is a great opportunity. I am grateful to have met wonderful people along the way who have made me a better person.

Volunteering at the project Buddhism was an incredible experience from start to finish. The atmosphere is peaceful and inspiring, the community is welcoming and kind, and everything about the volunteer program was well-organized. My experience with the project was wonderful. They were very respectful and open, they were very welcoming. The workload is well balanced, and you can change to something else if you feel too overwhelmed. The food is great, though it does get rather busy during teaching events. The dorms are suitable and work well, the facilities are the same. The art studio is amazing and I enjoyed learning new skills. I would recommend this place, I have made a lot of friends and learnt a lot of new skills.

I came to the project in a difficult time in my life. And being able to live this experience helped me a lot to think about everything and get better as a person. I loved every second of being in the center, this place feels magical. And the magic is connected to the people that volunteer at the center, everyone is amazing, have great attitude and one of the best experiences was meeting such amazing people. My best recommendation is for you to allow yourself to immerse with the people, the project classes and everything that the center has to offer. Thanks for everything! It was wonderful.

I had a nice time at the project. All of the staff and residents are lovely and welcoming, and the project itself is very well kept and peaceful. The accommodation was cosy and the meals provided were more than adequate, with snacks often also available. The work was manageable, and the working hours were respected. The only things I would say are to check which events/classes are happening at the project during your stay, as when I went the evening meditations were on a break, and also that the project is very remote, so keep that in mind when considering whether it's a good fit for you.

Best experience! the place is incredible, beautiful, great facilities and the food is very good. I had the opportunity to learn a lot and meet many wonderful people who are now friends that I want to take with me for life! the project is always very good and the temple is beautiful and pleasant! Continuing Lara and my review... We will genuinely miss this place and the wonderful people we met there. 100% can recommend!! Ulverston is a small town with lots of local shops. The buses aren't that frequently but with the train you can visit bigger cities like Lancaster (40 min) or even Edinburgh (ca. 3h). MKMC has a special place in our heart, we will never forget this adventure!

This was our first volunteer experience and it was truly amazing! The people at the project are so welcoming, making you feel at home right away. We went to many meditations and you can learn a lot about buddism if you're interested. During our stay we volunteered at the cafe and we really enjoyed it. Even though it can be busy on sundays, the work environment still remains amazing. Everyone is helping one another and we had a great time with many laughs. It hardly felt like work at all! The food was delicious and the castle itself is a highlight to look at. We miss this place and the people
