My experience in the guest house was awesome, I can say that I learnt a lot. Even I had lo leave sooner than I thought I took the best memories and tips that Charlotte gave me. Food was amazing and accommodation was impecable and super comfy. Thank you Lady Charlotte (and the two volunteers I met ) for let me have this great time with you :) Already back in Europe, hope I can go back to Scotland soon!

My experience at the guest house has been absolutely amazing. Charlotte told us in advance what our tasks will be and when we arrived she took the time to show us everything in detail. The work was not too hard and I loved to walk the dogs after we were done with our tasks. Food (especially Charlotte's selfmade Burgers) was delicious and always the perfect amount. Also, when there wasn't too much work to do, Charlotte took us to the most amazing places and showed us around Scotland. I really appreciate her straightforward but warm-hearted and sincere manner and the great talks we had.

Franzi I loved having you and Lisa here and we (me, Sophie, Riki and Rags are missing you both very much and you will always be welcome here. You are two lovely girls and any host in future will be very lucky to have you. You only have to let me know if you want to visit.
I do not know what is going on with these reviews as mine for you does not seem to appear to be visible (have been in touch with Worldpackers about the matter as it is not much use for you girls) so I have pasted again on here and it is as follows:

It was a pleasure hosting Franzi and during the 2 months she spent here she was willing to help out wherever and whenever she was needed. She has a great attitude and also a great sense of humour. She loved our dogs, cat and sheep and I cannot recommend her high enough. It was a sad day when Franzi left to return home - I and our dogs miss her and Lisa very much especially Sophie our demented, crazy beautiful little dog - still missing you both. I have no hesitation in recommending Franzi to any host and indeed would welcome her back anytime in the future. Thank you both. Charlotte

My experience at the guest house was great! The room was comfortable, we got 3 delicious meals every day and the working hours were fair. Some tasks might seem a bit complicated at first but it gets easier soon and is so worth it. We got to spend a lot of time outside, either with the dogs or with Charlotte on one of our trips. I learned a lot during my 2 months in Scotland and can only recommend volunteering here. Thank you Charlotte - I truly had an amazing time.

I spent five weeks at the guest house and time flew by for me. In January there were not a lot of guests or many people working there, but I never felt like I had nothing to do, thanks to all the hiking options and the help of Charlotte and Dick. The tasks were not very difficult but specific. The experience helps you to understand how to optimize your work. The meals were generous, the room was comfortable, the conversations could be great debates sometimes, and the animals were a wonderful company and distraction. I thank Charlotte for welcoming me into her house and for all the lessons!

The place is very nice, the accommodation is good, the work is not difficult, the only problem is undoubtedly Charlotte. She has a toxic, abusive and paranoid personality and it is very stressful to be in her presence. Meals are not always enough and you will spend a lot of money in restaurants as it is impossible to prepare something to eat as she does not allow you to use any of her 3 kitchens. She will also accuse you of stealing the guests' biscuits and believe me doing the dishes will always be a nightmare. I'm sure there are places nearby that will give you a more pleasant experience.

If you're willing to put up with being rude and being told you're always wrong, this is the perfect place. Charlotte will tell you how to do the tasks and the next day she'll change her mind, and don't even try to question it, because she's always right. She won't accept different opinions, and you should be grateful even with all her rudeness because otherwise she'll throw in your face that you're in her house, that she gives you food, as if it's all charity and not that we're here doing a service for her. And to make up for all the nonsense she'll take you for a few walks. Any doubt text me.

Charlotte is abusive, she will yell at you and insult you. She even blamed me for every single problem in my life (including sexual harassment and family trauma), all because I failed to complete a task. She has called me a spoiled brat, a nasty shit, lazy... When I finally told her I was leaving, SHE THREW ALL MY STUFF IN THE POURING RAIN. Everything got wet. She also tried to raise her hand at me.To Charlotte: go ahead, tell everyone I'm nasty and no one should host me. I won't ever bother reading it. I have video proof which I have emailed to the Worldpackers team, so good luck with that.

I do not think I have to say anything other than that you have portrayed yourself above very well even going so far as to describing yourself and warning future hosts to exercise caution when negotiating/communicating/dealing with you.
I am sorry you are disturbed by the serious issues you claim to have experienced in your life especially with other hosts and their guests (via another volunteer site) but throwing hysterics (and all of your belongings into a corridor thereby obstructing exits because you could not be bothered to pack them) and directing your aggression to me/making false accusations in such an arrogant,irrational manner will in no way help you to move forward in the future
I genuinely hope you get help and find peace with yourself in time

This experience was absolutely amazing! I admit that the first week was a bit intense, But once I got used to it, the work was easy and enjoyable. The hours were amazing and you'll have lots of free time! The food Charlotte made was very tasty! Her animals are absolutely adorable and so friendly except grumpy old Archie:) Charlotte took me to some amazing places and tell me the history about it. It was all very interesting! Charlotte, while very direct, is a very kind person who knows her trade well. If you volunteer here, be prepared for interesting discussions. Feel free to ask any question!

This was my first time volunteering and I am glad I spent it at the guest house. Charlotte was really kind and honest with me and my friend, the hours were fair and once you get the hang of it the work is enjoyable. The whole environment is around the house is lovely and I really liked her dogs. 10/10 experience for me and would definitely go there again if I ever have the chance.

You were both really helpful and very willing and I appreciated that very much. There will always be a place here for you - you only need to get in touch and you will be very welcome to come back (even just for a visit). We (me and the pets ) are all missing you. I had an amazing time over at the guest house!! Charlotte is a brilliant host, fun to work with and fun to be around. The work is very rewarding; don't expect you'll slack about! I learned a lot of skills I didn't have previously that I'm sure I'll use both in my personal life and in other Worldpackers experiences. The location is great, perfect if you enjoy the countryside, the company of wildlife (and Charlotte's great pets) and want to get immersed in Scottish culture. If you're looking to have a great time in the Scottish Highlands, I can't recommend this place more!!

Hi you thanks for that. Really enjoyed you both being here (a few hairy moments at the beginning thanks to a certain person but least said the better). I am serious about future visits so if you and your mum want to come over at some point when she visits let me know. Keep in touch and keep that house tidy!!!
