Very enjoyable experience at this hostel. Friendly team energy is strong, getting along and helping each other out on shift and during free time. Tasks are pretty straightforward. Sergio, Sarah and Merche are great managers that do well at coaching and being encouraging. The hostel is in a good location too, close to Royal Mile, Holyrood Park, Edinburgh Castle, the train station and multiple free museums. Definitely recommend!

I had such a great time! work usually takes four hours, sometimes less, so there's plenty of free time. since this was my first volunteering experience, i had to get used to the tasks and the speed but the managers are understanding and supportive. i've met so many great people and made lots of memories in edinburgh.

I really enjoyed my time at the hostel. The workload can be a lot at times, and the managers have high expectations, but they also support you throughout and are always giving feedback to help you improve. They want everyone to be successful. The location is amazing, and as the work is finished by 2pm you have a lot of time to explore. There are a lot of staff at the hostel, which can make it a little intimidating at the start, but everyone is so welcoming, and if you put in the effort to talk to people it will be reciprocated. Not a party hostel, but everyone is still having a good time :)

This was my first volunteering experience, and it truly has been more than I could have hoped for. The managers (Sergio, Sarah and Merche) make the hostel feel like a family. The volunteers I've shared this time with have been amazing, and I know I've made some really cool friends 🫶🏼✨ 100% recommend!

I loved my time at EBH! The team are so welcoming and I've made some great friends during my stay. Management is great and the housekeeping task were easy and expectations were clearly set. I hope to come back go EBH! :)

In the best location in Edinburgh, with nice people and fascinating Scotland culture, definitely worth to visit. The hostel vibe is more chill than partying, which I value a lot. Respectful and responsible manager and considerate volunteers, fair workloads and living space, highly recommended.

The time I spent here in Edinburgh could not have been better! I usually say that what makes the place are the people and thanks to Sergio and the other volunteers I was able to feel at home from the first day... it is impossible not to feel like a member of the family. Furthermore, all the guests were pleasant and the structure is excellent. The work for some may seem heavy for those who are not used to the cleaning routine. Furthermore, they respect the service hours. I would definitely go back without thinking twice!

This was my first volunteer, but it turned out to be one of the best experiences of my life. I extended my stay for three more months because I felt so supported by both the volunteers and the staff. I treasure unforgettable experiences with people from all over the world. I learned a lot about all. The work is easy and flexible, you just have to put in the effort. Sergio and Merche are incredible as managers, but even more so as people. They're like the parents of the hostel. They take care of you and will do everything possible to make you feel good; I love them so much 😭😭❤️‍🩹 100% recomm
