Absolutely adored my stay in Sign (the hostel) Guesthouse. The team is so kind and helpful, very respectful and quiet working space, much better than expected facilities and lovely, clean and friendly guests. I would like to stay with them again soon!

I stayed for 2.5 weeks and it was my first Worldpackers experience. I could easily adjust to the new environment. The staff especially Wira made me feel really welcomed and introduced me to the other workers. I could easily connect with the girls that also stayed there. The work was super fair and manageable. I was a little bit lost at the beginning since I didn't know where everything was but I could always ask someone. So all in all a great experience I would love to come back sometime.

I had such a good first volunteer experience at Santiagos Guesthouse!! The host and all of the staff were super friendly and helpful and they really made me feel welcome at the guesthouse! The work was easy and was only about 2 hours, after that you are free and you can enjoy your time in Kyoto. The guesthouse is near to a lot of nice cafes, restaurants, temples and the river. The hostel is cozy as well and has a nice common space! I really had a good time and met a lot of great people, so i can definitly recommend😊

My experience at the hostel was really good, I met a lot of people from the staff and volunteer team. A lot of events were organized, so many occasions to socialize. Work was easy, I would definitely recommend it 👍

I really enjoyed my time in Kyoto staying at the hostel. Apart from work it's a great Hostel with lots of places for social interaction and finding new people to travel with. The bunks are super cozy and spacey, you have your privacy and even place to put your belongings. As for work it's really easy and not much. We worked in groups of two or three and were usually finished before time was up and we're free to go. We got lots of free days and once a week there was a party and/or bar hopping with all the employees and volunteers. I really enjoyed the stay and hope to be back 😊🥹

I had an amazing time volunteering at santigago guesthouse. The work never took more than 2 hours to complete and the rest of the day was yours. The full time staff are very friendly, and once there was a few more volunteers, it was very social. It is in a great location. 20 mins from the bars and main shopping street and 8 min walk from the river. A few supermarkets and coffee shops nearby so you didn't have to always eat out (and the cafe gives you coffee too). The bed was so comfortable and being in a capsule gave you your own space. I would definetly go back and volunteer again.

Honestly the best I could ask for to end my trip to Japan.. The permanent staff is so warm and friendly! I felt like we were good friends right after meeting them. As for the hostel it is in the best possible spot in Kyōto to explore the city. You are 15 minutes away waking from Gion, Kiyomizudera, the Kamo river and so much more!! To add the cherry on the top, the hostel is on the most famous pottery/ceramic street in the city. So atmospheric.. Finally you do share the room with the guests but the capsules are so cozy and comfortable that you don't even notice them half of the time. 10/10!!!

Great team, so welcoming, young people from many different countries, the location is near to many important and beautiful places. I had an amazing time with the team at the hostel. It felt like home. They were very kind, easy to communicate with and very accomodating. I recommend to any other volunteers. I have left Santigao with new friends including the staff and I will be returning for a coffee when I come back through Kyoto.
