Help us to welcome our guest, Liverpool UK

I had a great time at the hostel! It wasn't my first experience volunteering, but was the best one! The work is easy and the owners helped us to do it when there was a little bit more to clean, but we always finished early than the previewed hours. The schedule are flexible and the owners are the greatest and nicer people. The hostel is not close to the city center, but there's a bus stop at the same street, and the accommodation is perfect. I really enjoyed my stay and I was able to travel around the UK while there. Super recommend it!!!

This was my first experience doing volunteer work and honestly, it was amazing in every way🤩 Tim and Kate are wonderful people and are always concerned about the volunteers and their well-being. My English level is very basic and that wasn't a problem. The work is simple and working as a team makes everything more enjoyable and faster. You have plenty of time to go out every day and enjoy this wonderful city. All the people I've met are wonderful and have become my family during this journey.

I really had a good experience here. Kate y Tim are so kind and thankful hosts and my roomies where the best, we became like a nice family. The job is not difficult, anyone with any level of English can do it, and you will have a lot of free time to explore the area and to visit tourist places. I would recommend to everyone who's willing to meet Liverpool. Finally I had to leave earlier than expected, so I talked with the host and they were very comprehensive. Thanks Kate, Emma and Tim.

It's a good place for exploring Liverpool, just 15 minutes in bus to town. The jobs are cleaning you can finish fast and have free time, the host is friendly and helpful, the staff room has everything necessary, the residents are friendly and you can practice your English

My experience with this volunteering was very good, the host was always very attentive and patient, always concerned about how we were and wanting to help. The work is very easy and the accommodation is very comfortable, it's like you are at home away from home. I will always be very grateful the guest house care that the host has taken with us and all the experiece at liverpool.

This was my first volunteering experience and I couldn't have chosen a better place! The host received me very well and constantly gave me tips about the city, besides always being very kind and careful with me. The work was very simple and quick to do and the hours were always well respected. In addition, the host also had a lot of flexibility in relation to the days off, when there was not much movement. I will carry this experience in my heart forever!

I do not recommend!! I was kicked out after 2 weeks because of a missunderstanding over text. Instead of talking to me he sent his wife over to insult my work and me as a person (I've spoken to her for 2 min. before this). Tim did not ever speak to me afterwards. He is manipulative, trying to make the volunteers feel guilty for staying „for free“ (aka free labor 30h/week). He couldn't remember any of our names, always interrupted and always felt offended when we said something (like asking for a better training). The building is under construction, barely any guests - work was chill tho.

Let's get some facts straight and explain with transparency in more detail. We excepted you on this platform with the hours shown and agreed along with the working conditions expected, all listed.

We expect volunteers to be;

Courteous,
Respectful,
Appreciative,
Kind,
Considerate,
Polite,

Towards staff and fee paying guests. You displayed a blatant disregard to towards our business and showed no gratitude whatsoever, volunteering is not by force however it's certainly seem to be from your side. Your mannerism and attitude was unacceptable and certainly not suitable for the hospitality industry.

We asked you to leave on this basis as our business was being affected dramatically.

If any hosts wishes to contact us, we can explain in more detail about this person and the situation that has arisen.

My 5th Worldpackers in a row, after four true five star experiences- this one was not good. I left two weeks easily in solidarity of another volunteer being kicked out early for no good reason. Facilities provided were great- Tim is not a bad person. I did have some issues with his leadership style. We did not get very much training- often we only learned we had done something wrong because we were not told otherwise. Also, the way check ins/outs is not organized and requires scrolling through WhatsApp. Communicating proved difficult, it was hard to get a word in, often felt belittled

Sincerely, in all honesty, this person was toxic while staying in our building, she influenced other people in a negative way. Was mostly interested in having days off, than being committed and enthusiastic. Our words are not malicious or biased, they are a factual encounter of what we've experience from this person. Sarah was very confrontational and argumentative and was not ready to listen. She also mentions about training. We have gave a detailed written schedule about the work involved . We honestly don't believe there is much training about a mop and a brush, good work ethic must come from within and common sense must prevail. This person was not committed and must understand we invite all volunteers into our business and we do not appreciate ill mannered behaviour.

We have some 77 reviews at 4.7 occasionally and most regrettably we do have people like you joining us.

Tim accepted me for this volunteering but I was obliged to go after the first week. Bad and good,I hope he learn from it: He is bad manager: he criticizes u in front of all- he threatens to fire if u don't follow exactly-he doesn't stop complaining - he monopolizes speech and doesn't accept when u defend ur self-he doesn't accept mistakes or give another chance before blaming u-he exaggerate-he is funny (at least for me)-he's not a good listener -he could be extremely friendly and change to extremely rude-i liked the cultural exchange we had-contact me for details, space is limited here.

❗️A VERY STRANGE ENCOUNTER ❗️

MARIA STAYED 4 FOUR DAYS ONLY

Original dates were 90 days, we accept Maria hoping she would be beneficial for us.

( BUT STRANGELY INFORMED US )

On the first working day her fingers were very sore after cleaning the oven, apparently her fingers prints were worn out due to cleaning and couldn't open her iPhone recognition system.

We was asked to provide a cleaning apron and mask for the work duties and we did, but then Maria decided that this experience was not for her.

We did learn from talking to Maria that she did not fully read the work commitment that was asked of her on this platform, the work was too much for Maria to deal with and she left rather PROMPTLY.

❗️A COMPLETE DISAPPOINTMENT & A WASTE OF OUR TIME
