The owner's treatment of volunteers is deeply humiliating. She switches from a friendly tone to yelling and scolding without reason, creating a tense and unpredictable environment. There is no patience to teach, only constant pressure, aggressive corrections, and looks of contempt. I saw a new volunteer being yelled at, shamed, and expelled on his first day with zero empathy, and two others left after experiencing her mistreatment. The owner unloads her frustration on volunteers, creating ongoing emotional abuse. and the work is too hard. This is not a safe or healthy place. I do not recommend

Juanfran completed his stay, and we chose not to give him a low rating to avoid harming his profile. For future hosts: he arrived without familiarizing himself with the information provided, which created difficulties throughout his stay. His profile photo is misleading, as guests found him unpleasant, unsmiling, and aloof, resulting in negative feedback. He does not seem suited for client-facing roles.

The experience was different from what I expected. I wanted to learn English, but the host was unaware of this and did not speak English, and there was pressure to learn quickly, which I also noticed affecting other volunteers. Tasks included reception, cleaning, and organization, often extending beyond scheduled hours to complete the “final review.” The room had no wardrobe, and there were extra costs not mentioned, such as the dryer. I left on the second day, refused to exchange positive reviews, and received a “no-show,” forcing me to reorganize my trip.

All details about tasks and accommodation were clearly provided in our profile and messages, but it seems they were not fully reviewed before your arrival. The whole problem is that you didn’t look at our profile or read our messages beforehand. Upon arrival, you realized the role did not meet your expectations and decided to leave immediately. While this caused us serious difficulties in finding a replacement, we chose not to leave a negative review to avoid affecting your new profile.

My experience at Hostel N1 the hostel was challenging. The workload was heavier than expected and cleaning supplies were often in poor condition. Communication with the management was difficult, and some of the listed benefits like free laundry and tours were not as described. The location was great, and the volunteer room was small but felt safe; however, there were no keys or lockers provided, which made storing personal items inconvenient. I hope the host improves organization and clarity for future volunteers.

The hostel is in the heart of the city! Supermarket in front of it and every nice place is close to the hostel. You have a room for the staff and the working hours are respected. The work shifts are very organized and everything you need to know is documented and easy for you to follow. Half of the month Dina is in charge, which means that your work is going to be fine. The other half is with Nina, she is very rigorous and not patient at all with any mistakes possible. At the beginning is difficult, but then she trusts you and it's okay.

Aquí te dejo la traducción: "This was my first volunteering experience, and I had never worked in a hostel before. I found it very interesting, as it allowed me to learn new skills and understand what volunteering is all about. I had great colleagues, Gabriel from Brazil and Dimitri from France. The work at the hostel was very clear, with set rules. At first, it was a bit challenging, as Nina, Alex's mother, is very strict. Don't get me wrong, I think it's great to have rules to keep everything in order. However, I think communication could be improved, as Nina doesn't speak any English, and

My journey at the N1 hostel was amazing. The accommodation and service were as agreed, and the fact that it has many rules helps you know exactly what you need to do on each work shift. Working hours are strictly respected, and days off too. The atmosphere was always friendly and respectful, with moments of relaxation. Alex, Nina and Dina were the people I had contact with, and they were amazing, the hostel is family and they made me feel part of it.

My journey at hostel N1 was incredible. The place has a lot of rules and this makes everything work perfectly, the work is all explained, there's even a manual with all the tasks if you need it. Working hours are strictly respected, and days off too. I had the opportunity to take a tour that the hostel organized for guests. Alex, Nina and Dina, the people I had contact with, and they were incredible, the hostel is a family hostel and they made me feel part of it, Nina treated us like real children and prepared typical food. For sure, if I pass through Bulgaria, I will go to hostel N1 again.

My experience the hostel N 1 was grateful. The first week was very hard because the tasks could seem difficult, but when you learn everything will be easier. The hosts are confidents, patients and they try to make you feel at home. Thanks you for your availability.
