Sin duda fue una experiencia increíble. Haber trabajado en la recepción atendiendo a huéspedes me ayudo a practicar mi ingles y portugués. Pude sumergirme en la cultura local. Braga es una ciudad donde todo el tiempo tiene eventos culturales, como festivales, exposiciones. A si mismo tiene muchas ciudades importantes cerca como Oporto o lugares de naturaleza como Gerês . Por lo que nunca te aburrirás. Siempre hay algo que hacer. Nelson siempre esta a disposición para ayudarnos en lo que precisemos y hacernos sentir bienvenidos. Obrigada por tudo!.

Este ha sido mi primer voluntriado en worldpackers y, sin duda, creo que es difícil de superar. Tengo la inmensa suerte de poder viajar junto a mi mejor amiga y compañera de proyecto y Nelson nos recibió a ambas con los brazos abiertos y con toda la generosidad que lo caracteriza. Nelson es una persona amorosa, respetuosa y está siempre dispuesto a ayudar a todo el mundo y gusta de hablar mucho. Los voluntarios que pasamos por aquí nos convertimos en familia y el cuida de los suyos. Ojo, eltrabajo es por momentos intenso, pero el clima que se arma es hermoso. el hostel es, sin duda, un hogar

Llegar al hostel fue como llegar a casa. Las actividades fueron realmente fáciles y bien distribuídas. Nelson es una gran persona, muy amable y bien dispuesto a ayudar en todo lo que sea necesario para sentirte a gusto y aprender sobre hoteleria e incluso desarrollar tu trabajo en la comunidad local. 100% recomendable.

Sinceramente al principio todo fue bien, después tuve un viaje con mi hermana el cual tuve un problema y no pude llegar a mi turno del día. Nelson me gritó por teléfono y me dijo muchas cosas. Entiendo su enojo pero creo que nadie debe gritarme y mucho menos una persona que le estoy ayudando, no soy su trabajadora. Luego una chica americana llego al hostal y Nelson la rechazó porque “no le daba buena espina”. Y la pobre chica se quedo sin donde ir, gracias a dios al final consiguió algo si no se hubiera quedado en la calle o se hubiera tenido que regresar a su país antes de tiempo.

Daniela had a total disrespect for everyone.
She arrived and the first thing she asked was 4 days to visit someone, I said, as usual, no problem.
So the work plan was made around that, with the efforts of colleagues. The day she was supposed to arrive, she didn't show up, without justification(when we are, or work with volunteers, there is something very important, the commitment).
In the next day, we talked and everything was fine, I thought. After, I have a call from a guest saying, he saw Daniela and Alexandra, leaving the Hostel with their bags.
It was confirmed, the Hostel was abandoned, in the middle of the work period, without saying anything to anyone, which is very serious.The safety of the Hostel and the guests was concerned.

Dicen que no hay mejor lugar que el hogar, y así me senti en el hostel, como en casa. El dueño y todo el equipo son las mejores personas que conocí. Logramos comunicarnos súper bien y el trabajo que uno realiza lo hace con alegría porque siempe hay buena vibra. 100% RECOMENDADO

The volunteer experience at the hostel was amazing. I had the chance to see how does hostel work and get to know local culture. Our host Nelson was very helpful and communicative. The tasks and hours of work were as agreed before. The city of Braga is very social and there's many culture events going on. In the free time I and other volunteers were spending a lot of time doing fun stuff as playing card games or having dinners. I was really lucky to spend my first volunteering there!

I really enjoyed my month at the hostel! Nelson is a nice host, he makes sure that the volunteers are doing well and is always there when you have questions or need support. Furthermore, the work was not hard and easy to learn. In return you get free accommodation and groceries for cooking. Moreover, the volunteers share their own space (livingroom, bedroom & bathroom). During my stay we were 4-6 volunteers. I can highly recommend this experience to everyone who is interested in getting to know Portugal and connecting with other people, as well as the city of Braga, that truly caught my heart

I stayed at the hostel for about a month and had a great time. Nelson is very welcoming and makes you feel at home. The work is easy and fair, even if not always explained in detail at first, but you learn quickly. The hostel isn't super social, though it's still possible to meet people and have nice chats with guests. Braga is gorgeous and safe, with plenty to explore nearby. Knowing a bit of Portuguese really helps, especially with reception tasks like check-ins and phone calls. I had a great experience and would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting to discover Braga and Portugal!
