The Monk's Bunk Hostel&Bar

If you like to meet people, have a beer, and fun in a chill atmosphere, you will surely enjoy our two hostels in Tallinn's beautiful Old Town. We have a bar with a wide selection of good beers and some wine, a courtyard with a pop-up bar open to the public starting from summer, and many events in mind.

Our staff is mainly traveling volunteers and some people living locally. Everybody speaks good English and is a pleasure to have around. Depending on the number of volunteers, we normally have from 4-16 people staying in the staff room and their stay varies from a month or a couple of months.

Absolutely loved my time at Imaginary Hostel! We appliedto the Monk's Bunk, but volunteered at Imaginary - which suited us perfectly. The location is close to supermarkets and in the heart of the old town. Our volunteer dorm was cozy, and we had a lot of fun chats and dinners with other volunteers. The shifts are long (8h), but the work is not hard - cleaning bathrooms, rooms, common spaces, and there is plenty of time for breaks and things in between work. The schedule is flexible - Polina is always happy to organise days off to suit your travel plans so we were able to see a lot of Estonia!

Travelling as a duo, my sister and I originally signed up for Monk's Bunk, but were offered a place at Imaginary Hostel instead as Monk's had no availability.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Imaginary, the shifts were only cleaning shifts, working for 3 days with 4 days off. There is plenty of opportunity to explore the country, which I really recommend. Estonia is stunning!

Most importantly, the staff, other volunteers and the unique groups of guests really made the experience worth it. I will really miss the Imaginary family and I hope to be able to visit again. Aitah!

Mi estancia en Monks Bunk fue increible. Fue mi primer viaje sola y desde el primer momento me sentí muy comoda y bienvenida. Te proporcionan comida semanalmente y 15 € para que cada dia un voluntario haga la cena para todos (menos viernes y sábados). Se respetan los horarios y puedes alojarte en Riga en un hostal gratuitamente. Definitivamente recomendaría este lugar ya que tienes mucho tiempo libre, no gastas dinero en comida y cada día se organizan actividades para los huespedes a las que te puedes unir. Me llevo muy buenos recuerdos!!!!

My experience in this hostel was just amazing! I met very nice people (volunteers and guests) and the hostel itself was comfortable. I would 100% recommend going either as a solo or with other people.

It was my first experience as a volunteer and I couldn't be happier. The place is very nice and in a really good location at the center of the Old Town but what I really liked the most are the people from there. All the workers, volunteers and guests were really nice to me and they made me feel very well and comfortable in every moment. Also Jordy was very friendly and close and he respects the working hours.
They have a flexible schedule so it is very easy to make plans and travel around Estonia.
After this experience I'm sure that I'll come back again.
