The Monk's Bunk Hostel&Bar
If you like to meet people, have a beer, and fun in a chill atmosphere, you will surely enjoy our two hostels in Tallinn's beautiful Old Town. We have a bar with a wide selection of good beers and some wine, a courtyard with a pop-up bar open to the public starting from summer, and many events in mind.
Our staff is mainly traveling volunteers and some people living locally. Everybody speaks good English and is a pleasure to have around. Depending on the number of volunteers, we normally have from 4-16 people staying in the staff room and their stay varies from a month or a couple of months.

Honestly this is my favorite hostel I have worked at. Everyone was super friendly and the tasks were simple. I didn’t have any issues while I was here. Running the pub crawls are probably the best thing you’ll ever do. Making the beds and scrubbing the toilets the worst. So everything evens out, they try to give you an activity shift atleast once a week. My experience here was phenomenal, highly recommend.

Had an amazing time volunteering here and would definitely recommend to others! The workload was not very demanding at all and allows for plenty of time to explore the surrounding areas. The atmosphere of the hostel is very social and there is always something going on to keep you entertained. The other volunteers and staff were all exceptionally welcoming and sociable, they really helped create a close community in the hostel.

It was my second time volunteering here, and I stayed for almost three months. Definitely a place that feels like home away from home.
The tasks are well-balanced between cleaning and social activities, adjusted to your personality as a volunteer (whether you’re more introverted or extroverted). This time, I got to experience the move to the new volunteer rooms, which made the stay even better.
Thanks to all the staff and the amazing volunteer team I got to share this time with. See you soon, of course, but next time just as a guest. You guys are the best !
