Sukia Hostel

Our hostel is located in Drake Bay and it´is surrounded by jungle, living a few days here is a guarantee of being able to observe the wildlife of Costa Rica.
To be a volunteer here is to take advantage of this setting in a serene and friendly atmosphere.

I am the owner of Sukia Travel and Sukia Hostel, this space is made so that travelers can rest after their excursions while staying close to nature to recharge their batteries. We currently have 2 to 3 people working full time. Being a volunteer at sukia hostel means being an integral part of our team while sharing the local pura vida.

Overall, I had a very positive experience. I was given a lot of responsibility, which helped me learn and grow, although it sometimes required working quite independently.
Tasks did not always fully match the job description, and communication via WhatsApp could be a bit chaotic at times.
The staff was very kind and taught me a lot about nature and Costa Rican culture. The remote and beautiful location allows you to truly connect with nature. Due to this, activities outside the proposed tours are limited, which is completely normal.

I had a wonderful time in Drake Bay, everyone is very welcoming and fun to work with. Dorms were great, I recommend bringing a hand held fan it will be very hot no matter the time of year. Structure of tasks were a little unclear but manageable. I genuinely enjoyed my stay and will miss the friends I made!

Mi estadía en hostelería fue curta, solamente estuvimos un mes pero fue mas que suficiente para darnos cuenta de donde estavamos , un lugar precioso. El ambiente era enriquecedor, salvaje y totalmente silvestre. El trato de parte de sukia ha sido excelente, no hay nada que pueda questionar. Una muy buena experiencia psra empezar en este mundo de los voluntariados. Gracias por todo lo compartido

Ha sido una experiencia muy buena, estuvimos mi compañero y yo durante mas de un mes y pudimos hacer infinidad de cosas.
A parte del trabajo tuvimos tiempo de sobra para realizar actividades libres, como: excursiones, buceo, ver sunsets… aparte los tours que entran con el voluntariado estan muy bien y son muy divertidos.
Solamente quiero dar las gracias a todo el equipo de sukia, por la experiencia.

I had a great time at Sukia hostel everyone was very welcoming and it was very fun to get to know a bunch of people in Drake Bay. The town is beautiful
