This project is a part of VetVan Thailand - animal welfare organisation that prevents stray animals from suffering by spaying, rescuing and treating. It’s a non profit thats helped over 20,000 animals since late 2017.

You can help us in variety of ways - by dog care and cleaning as well as promoting us on social media or even small construction work - the choice is yours!

Volunteering here is a rewarding community experience unlike any other. You will immediately become a part of the family and feel at home. We love Volunteers to apply their super-powers - you will not be boxed in by ideals, rather encouraged to use your skills and passion to improve the lives of the animals. Volunteers just like you are our biggest asset!

As we're a charity organization, all money we get in donations go to the dogs. The fee we charge is solely to cover the costs of your stay, so we can keep helping the most vulnerable animals. We do not make any money on this project.

The dogs are adorable and Marion, Toon and all the staff are doing an AMAZING job at running Muttlands. I unfortunately didn’t have the best experience, with instances such as scorpions in my room, unhygienic outdoor bathrooms, very long hours on very hot days (it’s minimum ~40/42hrs a week, not 32) and unrealistic expectations of volunteers to understand what to do immediately. I think there is a lot of stress behind the project which puts strain on the volunteers who are trying their best, hence my rating of 3. I made some really good friends here but I don’t think it was the place for me

Unfortunately, many parts are untrue. Our shifts are 5.5–6 hours per day, excluding breaks, with a maximum of around 36 hours per week, usually less. You were never scheduled beyond this. Other claims are also untrue and do not reflect reality. While I was not always on-site, our four-person team and manager provide full support. I was focused on our VetVan mission, helping 884 dogs in January alone. Thats my priority. We take honest feedback seriously but don’t appreciate dishonesty

I really enjoyed my time at muttlands. Getting to know all the sweet dogs, gain their trust, and help to care for them was incredibly rewarding. It’s evident the dogs are all very well looked after and loved. The staff and lead volunteer are amazing and you can tell everyone’s hearts are in it! It was also a great chance to meet other volunteers! I was disappointed with Jazmin’s involvement; she was never really around and made it clear she didn’t find the shelter as important as other endeavours. Unfortunately there’s minimal appreciation shown to the volunteers which was disheartening

Thanks for your review. While I was not always physically present, we have a 4person team, including a supportive manager. During your stay, I was focused on our primary mission through VetVan, spaying and protecting hundreds of stray dogs and preventing future suffering. In January alone, this work has helped transform the lives of 884 dogs. Apologies if you expected more of my attention. The dogs will always remain my priority

It was an incredible experience! Meet the other volunteers, create links, the staff is great! And taking care of dogs every day, playing, walking them, cuddling them, cleaning them of course was great! Giving them love every day is great. I stayed 1 month but I should have stayed there longer. Thank you to the whole team for your welcome and kindness!

This was my first volunteering experience so I was a little nervous going into it but the staff and other volunteers were so welcoming and made it feel like home away from home. Jaz has created such an amazing place for the dogs it’s truly unexplainable. The place is even better than you can imagine and they truly have the dogs as the main priority. I couldn’t recommend this experience more, it’s very well organized and well kept. Such an amazing place!!!

As a first time world packer I couldn’t have
asked for a better welcoming than what was provided to me at Muttlands. The staff were amazing and the volunteering (and dogs) were even better. Jaz provided an organized manual which was much appreciated as well as a homely environment, which is an absolute necessity when volunteering abroad. Absolutely recommend!
