Mariposario Vida de Colores

Un proyecto familiar dedicado 100% a las mariposas. Por lo al hacer voluntariado con nosotros convivirás y trabajaras con una familia.
Tenemos muchos trabajos, sin embargo todos son bonitos, desde recoger huevos de mariposas, hasta alimentarlas, verlas nacer, liberarlas y tomarles fotos.
Además estamos ubicados en un sector de Costa Rica desde el que será sencillo visitar muchos lugares hermosos en los tiempos libres

Somos un proyecto familiar, donde trabajamos la familia, mi mamá (Jenny), mi papá (José), mi hermana (Diana) y yo (Alberto). Además nos ayuda un jardinero (Don Jorge) y un amigo los fines de semana. Trabajar con las mariposas es una actividad muy gratificante y encantadora. Se disfruta realizando los trabajos, sin embargo tenemos mucho por hacer por lo que la ayuda de los voluntarios es muy agradecida por todo el equipo de trabajo.

Alberto and his family are so lovely, very nice and always ready to help if you need anything. For me, it was too quiet and I feel I didn't have enough work to do or learn about butterflies but I didn't stay for a long time, so maybe it can explain this. I was bored for most of the time, and the family doesn't speak english, so I felt lonely. But again, they are nice, smiling and the nature surronded by butterflies is stunning. I recommend this experience better if you speak spanish !

Thank you very much for sharing your experience with us. We are sorry to hear that you felt lonely during your stay. As your visit was quite short (only four days), it can be difficult to fully enjoy the project, the daily activities, and the learning process.

Most of our volunteers speak English, and our main butterfly farm team also speaks English. Many volunteers join us to enjoy a local nature experience while learning or practicing Spanish.

This is a great place if you are looking for a different learning experience surrounded by nature. The place is beautiful, and you can learn all that goes behind butterfly houses. This while sharing with amazing people who will be more that happy to teach you about the country and their biodiversity. Jenny and her family are the sweetest people ever, and you can see the love they have for this place. The tasks vary a lot and there is always something new to learn and do. It’s also nice that they motivate you to bring your own skills and interests.

Desde que he llegado al Mariposario, me hicieron sentir parte de su familia. Fue hermoso, agradezco su amabilidad y generosidad ante mi. Desde el primer momento estuvieron predispuestos en ayudarme y que me sienta cómoda. He aprendido mucho. El mariposario es muy bello. Una experiencia inolvidable sin dudas.

I had an amazing time at Vida de Colores. They made me feel at home really easily. I loved how much they loved sharing their culture and nature. We did many things together, like going on trips for example, but they’re also really chill and give you the time and space to be alone when you need it. The work is really relaxing and gratifying, and you have a lot of freedom within the work. Most importantly, they are all extremely friendly and welcoming. Would 100% recommend!

I had a great time at my stay in vida de colores. Everyone is very open and nice and they make sure to make you feel at home and like part of the family. The work with the butterflies is relaxing and you always have a say in what tasks you can and want to do. Because I like to paint my tasks included painting a lot of signs and other stuff.
We also did other activities like visiting a volcano or viewpoints which was so fun.
In conclusion, I feel like it was such an amazing experience and I will miss the people I have met there and became friends with.
