La Selva
Hi! I am Adrian, I have a little farm in Salobrena, the tropical coast of Granada, with 4500 square meters of fruit trees. The main production is Chirimoya, Aguacate and Banana. I also have Papaya, Guayaba, Mango, Caqui, Pomelo, Lemon, Mandarins, Oranges, figes, granadas.
The Granada coast is known for the tropical fruits, thanks to the long summer we have with mild temperatures during the whole year. The only trees in the land prepared for production are the chirimoyas, the rest of the trees are in the surrounding of the land creating beautiful wild spaces, and that's the reason why I call it La Selva (the jungle).
Salobrena village is 1km, and the beach is 3 km from my land. And only an hour by bus to the beautiful and historic city of Granada.
You can expect to learn about tropical fruits ecological professional agriculture, construction and being independent with water and electricity system.
When you join our project, you will assist with daily tasks around the farm. Such as checking on the fruit trees and feeding the cats and chickens. Each day brings new opportunity, and we take your interests into account. The morning starts with a team meeting, where we discuss what we would like to accomplish for the day. Volunteers are encouraged to take on personal projects, we want you to pursue what interests you! Of course, there is always plenty to be done, and we will also have tasks that we can provide to you.
I am an easy going person. Personally I love doing yoga, functional exercise, and calisthenics.
For me commitment is important, but also be happy, stay on time and be focused on what we do.
Nestled among acres of farmland, you will be living in an oasis filled with fruit trees, sunlight, and good energy. Come contribute as we turn this place into a self-sustainable space that is healthy for the body and the soul.
