Il Nosadillo

Because we are in the centre of Bologna, a great location close to the main square and grocery stores. We are a small and cosy hostel where it's very easy to meet the guests and feel at home.

Volunteering here is a great opportunity to excercise your creativity, share ideas and learn new things, including lots of nice recipe, we cook a lot here!

My name is Caterina, I'm from Bologna. I consider myself a nice and active person. My mission is to create a nice environment for all our guests and fix what is not working well, solve all the problems. We are a small hostel and I have only an employee, Sara, who also loves challenges and she mostly helps me with social media, our website, and some random manual tasks. Here the atmosphere is super informal and we are used to laugh a lot, cook and eat together with our volunteers.

Overall I had a nice experience at Il Nosadillo! Special thanks to Sara for being so wonderful. However, there are a few things I wish I’d known in advance that I want to share with future volunteers. For example, I was looking forward to meeting other volunteers and working together; however, there is only one other volunteer and you alternate shifts, meaning you never work together and are rarely free at the same time. Also, you and the other volunteer decide how to split up the shifts, but it’s morning and afternoon shifts every day so you can expect to work 7x 4/4.5 hour shifts per week.

Recomiendo 100% este voluntariado! Las tareas son simples, el lugar es súper cómodo y en general hay una energía buenísima <3 Sara y Caterina son gentiles, simpáticas y me ayudaron a mejorar mi italiano. Bologna es una ciudad bella, con buenos planes y muy estratégica para viajar a otros lados. Grazie mille per tutto!!!

First thing to say is that I’ll cherish this experience FOREVER.
Tasks to do are more than reasonable, free time more than enough, warmthness in Il Nosadillo is endless - for the place itself and thanks to Caterina and Sara.
I’ve gotten to improve my italian a lot, thanks to them and also got to share many ‘colaziones and pranzos’.
The vibe is always great with the volunteers as well, I’m coming back home with many new friends :)
If you’re willing to help, meet new people…I think you shouldn’t skip Bologna (great city) and Il Nosadillo.
I’ll always be thankful for this experience!

È stata la mia prima esperienza di wordpackers; Caterina e Sara sono persone meravigliose, buone, accoglienti e gentili. Il lavoro è semplice, proprio come descritto. Lo consiglio vivamente, come esperienza di conoscenza di un'altra cultura, sia per la città che per il volontario, sono davvero felice di aver contribuito e apprezzo immensamente la fiducia. Porto nel cuore tutta questa esperienza e un affetto per la città, che è molto culturale e piena di cose da fare, oltre ad essere molto ben posizionata per conoscere altri luoghi nelle vicinanze. Spero di poter tornare un giorno. Grazie!!!
