Finca Corbera
I am setting up a 10 hectare non-commercial eco-farm in Tarragona, Corbera d'Ebre. The focus is on developing gardens and taking care of plants. There is also some light construction work, working with wood, perhaps some cement if you want. setting up water systems. And if it is hot outside you can also help few hours with renovating an old typical Spanish masia where it is much cooler. or if you new to wood working. Learn how to make a chair or sofa or a table. Don't work hard, but consistent. you can divide the working hours throughout the day. Depending on the season. In the summer I recommend to work early. And perhaps an hour in the evening. Accommodation is simple: you will sleep in a caravan covered with shade screens. If you wish you can bring your own tent or I provide you one. And put it up somewhere on the hill or on the shade side of the valley, where you can enjoy the screeching sounds of the local foxes and an occasional wild boar passing by in the night. With compost toilets and an outdoor shower, the facilities are basic, but you are invited to discover the tranquility. (you will
know its Saturday, because people are passing by on their mountain bike. Other then that, you will have no clue what day of the week it is. That's how quite it is.)
*In general volunteers pay for their own food. spices and herbs i have , and what is growing in the garden is for free. The working hours are not precise. If it is heavy work. work less hours please. The reason why you pay for your own food, is that, on this farm its about learning, not about the amount of work you do. I can pick you up from train station or bus stop. Or if you are nearby I could pick you up from where you are. Interested in joining?
IMPORTANT.
What to bring with you: Pair of safety shoes The ones with a reinforced nose? We have rough terrain here. Any other shoes will be destroyed within 1-2 weeks. plus it is for your safety. Please keep in mind: Farms are dangerous places.
Temperatures are dropping in November at night. If you wish to apply in November, I have sleeping bags, but bring your own good quality sleeping bag if you sleep in a tent! Temperatures at night can drop to 8 degrees Celsius. so bring warm clothing for the night and early morning. During the day temperature is perfect for working. I leave application open for the people who have a camper van.
Bring a headlight. so you have light if you need to walk in the dark/night.
People pay in general for their own food. dont worry about this. if you are low on money, let me know, im sure we work things out. Especially if you are from South -and central America.
I work from home , so i have to divide the attention between "working for the man" and my farm. My dog Milka keeps me good company. If volunteers can help me out a little, im happy.
