Finca Corbera
Eco-farm in Corbera d'Ebre, Tarragona (10 hectares, non-commercial)
We focus on permaculture: creating gardens, caring for plants, doing light construction work with wood (and sometimes cement if you enjoy it), and setting up water systems.
When it's too hot outside, you can help renovate the old Spanish masía indoors — it's much cooler there.
We don't work extremely hard, but we do work consistently. The working hours are flexible — you can spread them throughout the day depending on the season. However we do start early in the summer and it is expected to be on time. In the afternoon we often dont work and possibly doing an hour in the evening.
*Accommodation
There is one simple caravan with shade screens. In addition, there are private tents available for volunteers. At night you will hear the foxes screeching and occasionally a wild boar passing by. The facilities are basic: compost toilet and outdoor shower. It is wonderfully peaceful here — you only know it's Saturday when the mountain bikers pass by. Otherwise, you lose track of what day it is.
*Food
Volunteers pay for their own food. Anything growing in the garden is free to use.
The working hours are not strict. If the work is heavy, just work an hour less. The focus here is on learning, not on putting in as many hours as possible.
*Pickup
I can pick you up from the train station or bus stop. If you're nearby, I can also pick you up.
Please keep in mind that this involves costs — the car doesn't run on unicorn tears.
IMPORTANT.
What to bring with you: Pair of safety shoes The ones with a reinforced nose. We have rough terrain here. Any other shoes will be destroyed within 1-2 weeks. plus it is for your safety. Please keep in mind: Farms are dangerous places.
People pay in general for their own food. dont worry about this. if you are low on money, let me know, im sure we work things out. Especially if you are from South -and central America.
Interested in joining?
Feel free to apply! 😊
I work from home , so i have to divide the attention between "working for the man" and my farm. My dog Milka keeps me good company. If volunteers can help me out a little, im happy.
