Excellent English Learning Center

Excellent English Learning Center is located in my house, in Bondowoso, East Java. Bondowoso is not a tourist place like Bali. This small town is a peaceful place close to nature. Don't expect Bondowoso like Bali. This place is for foreigner who is ready to live like a local and willing to help me teaching English

The school is located right next to my house and is still part of my house. So, the volunteer will live in my house with my family and me. They will have a chance to experience local life style, shopping in traditional market, looking around the city, and meeting local people at spare time. The traveller will understand how locals learn English. The volunteers need to be patient and friendly because the children might be shy to meet foreigners. Native speakers are most welcomed. However, if you are non native but have great English spoken or teaching skill, yes please! Being nervous during class is normal. Hopefully you can manage it. The students will surely love you. The volunteers will be taught Indonesian Language if they wish. For the gym lovers, I will provide you first time free access there. If you want to go somewhere like you are looking for something, feel free to ask me to ride you.

Rooms & Food:
For the volunteer, we provide the upstair/rooftop with private bedroom (no AC but standing fan) , local bathroom (no shower no sink, but water tank and a squat toilet are way to go) and balcony for the volunteer in my house. The wifi is 50 mbps. It only works downstair. Why? Because if there is no volunteer, the rooms upstair are vacant. I live downstair. However, feel free to sit or relax on the couch downstair if you need the wifi. Feel free to sit together with my family watching TV together. By the way, you can see beautiful sunset at the rooftop.
For the food, we provide local food 3x. We eat rice for everyday as the main menu. You can use the fridge and kitchen in my
house.

At my home, there are my husband, my mom, my toddler son and me. We will treat the volunteer as our family. I am the only one that speaks English but my family is eager to communicate with you too especially my husband. He is enthusiast to communicate with you because he wants to improve his English speaking skill by talking with you.

Here, you will hear neighbourhood 5x Muslim Prayer Call is called Adzan at 4 AM, 11.30 PM, 15.00 PM, 17.30 PM, and 18.30 PM. The Prayer Call (Adzan) takes around 5 minutes only. I know maybe it will wake you up when it is at 4 AM. I hope you don't get shocked. You can wear your Airpods if you don't like it.

Regarding the classes here:
There are 2 types of classes here. They are Group Class (consists of 10-12 students) and Private Class (consists of 1-2 students).
For group class the volunteer and I will do it together. The students' parents expect their kids to learn English with foreigner. So that, I also expect the volunteer to run the class alone for the private class. I hope you don't mind this. But that doesn't mean all the private classes belong to the volunteer. I have one worker now. Of course we will share the schedule. She and I will do private class as well and sometimes at the same time we have 2 private classes (one is yours one is mine/her).
Each class takes 60 minutes/meeting. Your portion is 4 hours per day.
To support the teaching learning process, I provide the Laptop. The volunteers basically creates the PowerPoint presentation. I will provide the worksheet related to the topics of the presentation.


IMPORTANT: This place is for foreigner who is ready to live like a local. Unfortunetaly, I cannot accept unmarried couple.

How to reach my location:
From Surabaya / Juanda Airport - I reccomend an open travel "Dieng Travel Bondowoso" I will give you its whatssap number. They pick you up in the airport usually at 4 PM and drive you right to my house. However, you need to wait for some hours in the airport because it is an open travel not private that is why it is cheap and airport is the last pick up route.
Noted: You pay your self for this.

From Bali -Ketapang Harbour Banyuwangi - Jember - Bondowoso


There is no train station in Bondowoso, if you go by train, you will drop in Jember. You can take a grab car from Jember to Bondowoso
