Obviously this experience is about the kids, but I couldn't help but let the fact that the money the volunteers bring in does NOT get reinvested to the children. This money was used to demolish the children's basketball court and instead build a pool that only Wayan and his family, as well as the volunteers can use. Volunteers spent their OWN money to purchase a very cheap volleyball net and volleyballs. So where does the >$350 USD go? It's going towards Wayan's personal life - buying land and building villas/hotel. None of this money is being reinvested into the program we volunteer for.

The host and staff were very welcoming, and the food was great (three meals a day). You have full freedom in lesson planning for kids (ages 10 & 17). Accommodation is hostel-style, mostly clean, with a slight musty smell in the wardrobe. The town is quiet and by the sea, which I personally liked, but there aren't many activities. The pool wasn't very clean, but others didn't mind. School runs 4 days a week, with 3 days off. The host encourages sexual education, which I appreciated, but I found the students' conservative views on LGBTQ+ topics and sex challenging when teaching.

The experience was generally ok. However, I expected more involvement from the organisation. No one told us about our responsibilities and the main goal of the project. The volunteers do everything on their own, without any support.On the other hand, we paid a lot of money, but they don't invest in materials or resources for the children.The teaching experience was very good, I shared those weeks with another volunteers and they were fantastic. The accommodation is comfortable but the place is isolated and quiet (which wasn't a problem for me).The girls who organise the hosting are really nice

We had an amazing two weeks as volunteers teaching English to children of all ages. The kids are adorable, enthusiastic, and motivated, which made the classes both stimulating and rewarding. The setting was simply paradise: delicious food, a pool to relax in after classes, and a host who took great care of us. Time flew by, and we leave with unforgettable memories. This is an experience we highly recommend!

I had a great time teaching english to the kids. It's inspiring how the kids are so invested in learning because it will help them have more opportunities in the future. It's a good chance to help. Food and bed were good aswell. Thank you Wayan, and thank everyone there for me as well.
