This place was nothing short of amazing. Truly the most special place and if you have the chance to stay at Rob and Rene's finca you should absolutely take it. You live a slow and peaceful lifestyle there. Wake up to the sounds of birds and monkeys and eat food from the ground with love. Such a nice location, away from the hustle and busyness of life and close to the beach and jungle. At first I was worried about only eating vegetarian but i NEVER had a bad meal. Food was delicious! My girlfriend and I had the best time. Shout out to Anna who works there as well, she's the best!

Felt welcomed and enjoyed the great food and nature! As a kitchen hand, shifts varied—sometimes covering all meals Breakfast 7–9am Lunch 10:30–1:30pm Dinner 5:30–8pm Often worked over 30 hrs/week 5hrs/day and didn't get a full day off until I asked. Free time was limited, and being remote (store=45 min walk), it was hard to explore. I wish there was more cultural exchange. Most reviews seem to reflect retreat guests, not volunteers, and may not accurately describe working here. Keep that in mind when considering this opportunity. Summary: Fun but felt like a full time job

Wow! What an amazing experience the eco village is—I couldn't recommend it more. Rebe and Rob are the loveliest people, making me feel like family and so at home. The food was incredible, and I learned so much cooking alongside Rebe. The wildlife and nature here are absolutely breathtaking, and with Rob's knowledge, there's so much to discover and appreciate. Thank you for giving me the best possible start to my travelling journey—I'll definitely be back! 🧡

This was truly a once and a lifetime experience I recommend for everyone! Rebe and Rob are two of the kindest people I have ever met, with welcoming hugs and teachings. Their eco village is also GORGEOUS with stunning views and a short walk to the beach. I learned so much about sustainability and sea turtle conservation, with the chance to even hold baby sea turtles! If you want a truly amazing experience, volunteer here :)

My time in CR was life-changing. Rebe and Rob welcomed me with open arms, showing incredible kindness and trust. I'm deeply grateful for the opportunities they gave me. Cooking plant-based meals with Rebe was an honor, and the night patrols, where we relocated sea turtle eggs to a safe hatchery, were fascinating. Contributing to animal welfare gave me a profound sense of purpose. Swimming with sea turtles during a snorkeling tour was unforgettable. Before arriving, I was at a low point, but the people I met there restored my hope and helped me heal. It was truly the best time of my life!<3

The eco village is a true oasis and provides an authentic way to experience Costa Rica. Rob and Rebe are welcoming hosts who are dedicated to their mission of creating a sustainable eco-village, and it was lovely to have the opportunity to participate with them in their vision. I enjoyed being very close to nature and wildlife, practicing Spanish and helping construct the neighbor's house with Rob, relaxing in the hammocks, playing volleyball at the beach with the dogs and fellow volunteers -- some of whom have become very close friends. This was a memorable experience that I will cherish!

The eco village is an absolute nature oasis. The location and setting is so pretty with a quick walk to the beach! Rob and Rebe are the best hosts! The passion they have for their place and surroundings show. The food is incredible! The work hours are so relaxed and you have plenty of time to learn and relax. We were lucky enough to see so much wildlife including a turtle! The sleeping roundhouse is awesome and I felt so safe in the mosquito net. Definitely recommend 👏🏽

This place is amazing! The owners Rob & Rebe truly make the place what it is. The hospitality, facilities, and overall program were perfectly planned out making the stay extremely comfortable and fun! Rebe has a true passion for cooking, using fresh ingredients from the farm to make delicious vegetarian meals every day. We were always looking forward to the next meal. Rob provided the knowledge about what, why, and how they are protecting the turtles and other life within Drake Bay. Showing us how to live sustainably yet comfortably. Alongside making us laugh every day Highly recommend!
