Larissa was a very hard worker and willing to learn! Although she left us sooner than expected, we do wish all the best for her! She was a good asset to the Hostelle team.
The job is just as described, the girls are super accessible and willing to help you. But comparing to my other experiences, the room is not good (toooo tiny) and I didn't feel a real compromise in introducing me to the city and society, which is a must as a host in Worldpackers community. Just to align expectations, I felt more as a work experience than a volunteering experience, that's why I have to be fair in my evaluation. But again, everybody is super open and flexible about what you need and clarifying job issues/doubts you may have. London is super expensive so you can save money too.

Larissa was characterized for having this great energy, being very responsible in her shifts and for maintaining very good relationships with both the volunteers and the Pink Flamingo staff. She was always willing to give the best of herself in a creative and mature way. We highly recommend her if you are looking for a friendly, responsible, committed person with a smile on her face every day. She is a must have!
Super good experience! The hostel is super clean and organized, the other volunteers are the best part by far, amazing people that you can connect while working and living together. The city is also cool and close to other bigger cities like Amsterdam and Rotterdam. Thank u for all the amazing moments, the hostel team!

I worked for 2 years with research projects, and at that time I created a low-cost technological prototype of a Smart Blind Stick. After that, I worked 2 years in the industry in the areas of automation and robotics. In 2018 I entered the computer field and worked as a software developer until mid 2021, when I founded TQV! (https://tambemqueroviajar.com/) with the aim of helping people with the travel knowledge I have accumulated along my path. Lastly, I worked as a Data Analyst at a brazilian unicorn fintech/digital bank.

Trabalhei durante 2 anos com projetos de pesquisa, e nessa época criei um protótipo tecnológico de baixo custo de uma bengala automatizada para pessoas com deficiência visual. Após isso, trabalhei 2 anos na indústria nas áreas de automação e robótica. Em 2018 entrei para a área da computação e trabalhei como programadora até meados de 2021, quando fundei a TQV! (https://tambemqueroviajar.com/) com o objetivo de ajudar as pessoas com os conhecimentos sobre viagens que acumulei ao longo do meu caminho. Por último, fui analista de dados em uma fintech/banco digital que está na lista das poucas startups brasileiras a se tornarem unicórnio.

My greatest passion is traveling and that's why, at the age of 20, I had already known 10 countries! I have always looked for scholarship opportunities abroad, and the first was when I won a contest to be a reporter for a few days in the United States. During high school, I was selected by LALA - Latin American Leadership Academy for a leadership intensive in Medellín, Colombia. After that, I was awarded with a field trip scholarship to visit visit automobilistic industries in Germany. A few months later, I was one of the five Brazilians selected by the British Council for an all-paid trip to the UK with a focus on inspiring young people with an entrepreneurial spirit to promote change in their communities. Currently, I always seek to travel as a volunteer because I believe in the potential of transformation this experience causes, and that's why I intend to visit many people and places with Worldpackers!

Minha maior paixão é viajar e por isso, com 20 anos, já havia conhecido 10 países! Sempre busquei oportunidades de bolsas de estudos fora do país, e a primeira delas foi quando ganhei um concurso para ser repórter por alguns dias nos Estados Unidos. Durante o ensino médio, fui selecionada pela LALA - Latin American Leadership Academy para um intensivo de liderança em Medellín, Colômbia. Após isso, fui contemplada com uma bolsa de visita técnica a indústrias automobilísticas na Alemanha. Alguns meses depois, fui uma das cinco pessoas com nacionalidade brasileira selecionada pelo British Council para uma viagem com tudo pago ao Reino Unido com foco em inspirar jovens com espírito empreendedor a promover mudanças em suas comunidades. Atualmente, busco sempre viajar como voluntária por acreditar no potencial de transformação que essa experiência traz, e ainda pretendo conhecer muitas pessoas e lugares com a Worldpackers!
