Mi experiencia en el hostel ha sido muy buena,las tareas son fáciles de hacer y el horario bastante bueno para poder aprovechar el día.El hostel se encuentra en el centro de Palermo a tres minutos andando de la estación de tren,en muy buena posición.Es una experiencia increíble para conocer gente y compartir experiencias,para mejorar inglés o italiano(motivo principal en mi caso) ,especialmente agradecer a Thila y Hassan trabajadores de aquí por el trato,bellísimas personas ha sido un placer conocerlos.Esta fue mi primera experiencia haciendo voluntariado y repetiré sin duda!!

I loved the experience! Working hours are respected and the tasks are easy. Massimo was very flexible with me regarding the schedule, which allowed me to attend my Italian classes and take a trip to a place that wasn't very close. Thilanka and Hashan were always kind and respectful! The facilities are comfortable. The internet always worked perfectly.

Fue mi primer voluntariado y estuvo muy bien, aprendi mucho. Las 5hs diarias son mayormente cortadas pero se respetan, los dos dias de descanso me tocaron continuos, por lo que pude conocer varios lugares. En vez de darte comidas te dan 20euros que si te organizas, alcanza y comes lo que vos quieras. Thilanka y Hashan son muy amables, te ayudan en todo lo que puedan. Las voluntariadas que conoci muy copadas todas. Volveria a realizar la experiencia en este hostel ya que me senti como en casa y me encanto Palermo.

Esta fue mi primera experiencia como voluntaria y fue increíble. Conocí a personas maravillosas como Thilanka y Hashan, y a mis compañeras igual, les he cogido cariño ❤️🫶🏼 Además esta super cerca de todo, justamente en el centro así que pude conocer Palermo. Muchas gracias y espero volver pronto. <3

My experience at the hostel was great! I was lucky enough to get along very well with the other volunteers. I was able to improve my English and tour Palermo and even Sicily in one month. The staff is lovely, the hours are flexible, and the work at the bar and reception isn't complicated at all. I had this experience in winter, but I think it's even better in summer! I highly recommend it!

Mi experiencia en BalarmHostel fue muy linda. Me sentí muy bien acompañada por los que conforman el Staff: Hashan, Thilanka y Lucía son un amor de personas y siempre están atentos a lo que uno necesita. Se nota su responsabilidad y dedicación, por lo que es muy agradable y eficiente trabajar con ellos. Massimo estuvo pendiente al teléfono 24/7, lo cual hizo que todo esté bien organizado, y cumplió con todo lo acordado. Las tareas del Hostel son llevaderas, los horarios van rotando y es factible tener los dos días off seguidos. El hostel está muy bien ubicado, en pleno centro.

The highlights of this hostel were definitely the managers, Thilanka and Hasham, who were very helpful and supportive. Palermo itself is an amazing city with beautiful nearby beaches and amazing atmosphere. There were a few areas that could be improved. Our dorm room did not have a lock, which made us feel unsafe at times, and there were recurring bed bug issues that could have been handled better. Although the listing mentioned three meals a day, we only received breakfast and 20 euros per week to cover other meals, which is not enough. Overall the experience was good but hostel need changes

On the one hand I had a nice experience in general. I have improved my italian, the volunteer experience was such a nice thing. The mix of working hours and having so much free time was really nice. I have never worked more than 5 hours. The best part of all, however, were the three other volunteer girls. I will never forget them. Also the permanent employees, Thilanka and Hashan. Thanks to them so much. Work was so simple and easy to understand. But there are a lot of things which can be manage so much better of the host / manager. E.g. professional abatement of bed bugs

the manager and property followed all the rules to prevent and to remove bugs issue, your behavior was always bothersome and problematic, you complained for everything and cant solved also the smallest problems, we accepted your request also if your age was not on-line with others volunteers (39) thinking you can add some good vibes and experience to the team but we were wrong, your presence was only a limit and your behavior influenced in a negative way all the team, unsuitable!!!
