Das Erlebnis

We are looking for someone to support our 5yo son in his learning process of violin and piano. You need to be able to work independently with him, create a schedule, make it fun, giving him lessons in those instruments. You are able to teach an instrument and know where to start. This will require just approximately 30 min a day, beside the piano lessons the rest of working time we would like to have help with our 3 boys, cooking and cleaning.

This was my second ever Worldpackers experience and I really enjoyed it. Right from the start they made me feel welcomed and appreciated for the whole of my stay. During the next three weeks I learned a lot, especially about nutrition and faith. Anna and Joel are very open to discussion and we had interesting conversations at lunch. Also with the other volunteers who I went on little excursions with! Most of my tasks consisted of taking care of the boys and lending a hand in the kitchen, which was always manageable and provided a good experience. This was a pretty unforgettable experience :)

My stay at the home family surpassed any expectation I might have had before coming. Words can not express what I have gained from being with Anna, Joel, the kids and the other volunteers. They are the kind of people you rarely meet in your life, so it's best to cherish the time you spend with them. As with any volunteering opportunity, don't come here if you are expecting a vacation. While the work itself might not be the most challenging, every task requires diligence and thoroughness, especially working with the kids. Come with the right attitude and you will have the time of your life.

I stayed three weeks there and the family is caring and have a lot of knowledge about nutrition and religion, which can be really interesting since they are really open to teach you and debate about almost everything. I had a good conexion with most of the volunteers, but don't expext to meet a lot of people, it's more about staying long time with the same persons :) The only complain I could have it's that the working hours are more than five every day, many days being full day shift, and the free day is only Saturday. But the task are not difficult, they just take a long time. Love the food!

Thank you for your message. I would have appreciated if you told me this personally since I asked ofter if thing were okay and if you needed free. Many times you said that you can help if needed. Some days were all days to work because there were things that needed to be done. You got days off the whole day beside the saturday, ex: visingsö day. You often had half day off. In working hours is not included the eating time or taking dishes because you would have needed to do it anyway if free.

I stayed with Anna and Joel for just over 2 weeks. I helped them with various tasks: gardening, playing and spending time with the children, helping with house tasks (cleaning and organising) and assisted with their the home. They are kind and generous people who try and help to make the world a better place by being passionate about people having a healthier lifestyle nutrition wise - which is what their the home is based on. I had a good time in this family and enjoyed taking care of the children. They were very kind and funny! Anna and Joel are wonderful people who always tried to make me feel comfortable. I have to say that the house really is surrounded only by nature so if you are a person who loves visiting cities or go out at night, this is not a place for you. The schedule is flexible though so you can take the bus during the week and visit cities such as Linkoping, Jonkoping etc. On the week-end you can go to Granna by car with the family too. Thank you for this experience !
