Nothing prepared me to meeting these beautiful souls! There is great deal of love and respect in this house. We felt like it was a second home. It's truly beautiful to see the effort made to make us feel at home but also to create an impact into this community. The food was always very authentic and cozy. The kids are simply too cute to handle 🤣 We could not ask for more, still we felt like they gave us everything. A good reason to come back to the eco village!

Staying at the eco village was so much more than an exchange - it was a true encounter with a community that welcomed us like family. Yuli opened her home and heart to us, and from the very first day, we felt at home. Sharing the daily routine and the moments with the children taught us so much about presence, connection, and humanity. We left with full hearts and the deep feeling that we'll be back. This place became home. And these people, part of us. Thank you, Yuli, for giving us so much. See you in July 🥹❤️

La experiencia en este voluntariado fue hermosa, me encantó estar en el hogar y la escuela, las personas súper lindas, me hicieron sentir muy bien recibida y en familia, las clases son con los chicos de la secundaria y por las tardes con algunos niños en casa, todos muy lindos y atentos, tuve la oportunidad de conectar con gente local, ver las costumbres y como es la educación en este país, me encantó la experiencia porque yo soy maestra en 🇲🇽, fue maravilloso, muchas gracias por todo, espero verlos de nuevo 🫂🫂🫂

Had an amazing experience at the eco village. Yuli and her family really made me feel welcomed and really made sure I was well fed. The locals in the village were very excited to see travellers to the point that I felt like a celebrity! I was also really impressed by how much English the kids picked up in such little time, and teaching them was an incredibly rewarding experience. I look forward to coming back to the eco village one day.

We had an incredible experience at the village. Unfortunately, the time we had was so short. The kids really enjoyed the lesson with Mikail. He is really a good teacher, friend and partner. I hope to have him back at the village next time in the future.

This was one of the most incredible experiences in my life. I learned so much through this volunteer and it was so inspiring to really experience the local life in Indonesia. Being in the village and around felt like being a superstar as everyone wanted to take picture, talk to you and we even got interviewed and made it to a YouTube video. Never in my life have I experienced a hospitality like this before and Yuli and her family were just the nicest people you can imagine always taking care of me and serving delicious food every day. I wish I can come back one day and visit Yulis family again

I am really happy to have Tim at my village. We spent such a great time with everybody at the village. Tim is very kind and nice to everybody. He always wanted to do new things. He is very adaptable. He is also very talented in business and economic. He also speaks some foreign languages. He is really a good role model for the young generation. Thank you Tim for choosing my village to stay. I am so graetfull. Hope that you could come back next time.

I really loved volunteering at the eco village. Yuli and her family are very lovely and welcoming. I felt as though I was part of the family from the very beginning. They learned me so much about Jawa and the Indonesian culture. We visited several schools and talked to the English teachers. Furthermore, we visited a lot of family members, did a Batik workshop and climbed Mount Ijen. I loved staying with the family. Staying here was an enriching experience that I will cherish forever. Alycia was the first volounteer that we have after a month we've been closed. Having her is such a big surprise for everybody in the village. She is very nice and kind. She is also very anthusiastic with all new things that she found. She always tried all the traditional food without any hasitation. That's what makes her different. The kids loves her. Thank you Alycia for being the part of my family. Hope that you could really come back next time to trace the history of your ancestor.

Yuli and her family were the most generous people. They made me feel very welcome and always stuffed with food ;) Yuli has a very kind heart and is very understanding. Mostly we visited schools, introduced ourselves and spoke to the students and their teachers. Sometimes we also participated in community activities or came up with English games for the students. It is very easy going and everyone is just happy to meet you and wants to take a lot of pictures. The children in the house are the cutest such as the cats! I definitely recommend and wished I stayed longer at Yuli's.

This night be a bit late to write, but I never forget the time Helena was at the village with our family. Though she stayed only a week, but we spent really a good time together. Helena is a very nice person with a very strong personality. She gets along with everyody easily. She also encourage the students to learn English more. She is very independent and adaptable. Thank you Helena, we do hope to see you again next time.

Yuli and her family are the most caring people, they make you feel at home and as part of the family! The village is small and you will be famous during your stay there, everyone is eager to know you and the students are willing to learn and interact. It has been an absolute pleasure to spend time with everybody in the village, this experience broadened my mind and helped me grow as a person and as an English teacher, because I had the chance to talk to several English teachers there. This experience and the people I have met will be forever in my heart, thank you Yuli so much for everything!!

Antonela is a great teacher and very energetic. She always comes up with brilliant idea to make the students speaks. She attracted the students interest to talk to her. Even one of the students who never spoke English before, because her she is now having the bravery to speak. My whole family hoped that she could stay longer with us, because a week is really short. This was the most amazing experience! Yuli and her family were so welcoming and kind. We felt as though we were part of the family and made meaningful connections! We were fully immersed in the local life therefore we learnt lots about Indonesian culture. The family would kindly take us to see lots of different places within the area, such as climbing Mount Ijen which was beautiful. The kids were so sweet and kept us entertained throughout our stay. I would recommend this experience to everyone! This was my first Worldpackers experience, and it was amazing. Yuli and her entire family are so lovely and welcoming, we felt like family. All of the kids were so friendly and funny - I already miss them an incredible amount! I felt truly embraced by Yuli's family who were so kind to us during our stay. Yuli and her family catered to our dietary requirements and cooked us so much amazing traditional food! If you are looking for an experience of local life, this is definitely the one for you!
