I had a good time there. There is no electricity or signal. But you know that beforehand. If you want, you can always take the boat to Rurre for 10 Bs. I was pleasantly surprised by the cooled drinks and the good food from the cook (Theresa). The only downside is that the staff sometimes tell you contradictory things about how to treat the different animals. But you just do your best. And you are happy to do it for the animals and Frederic.

El voluntariado en el proyeto, en la selva del Madidi, es una experiencia única. Este centro rehabilita animales rescatados, como monos capuchinos y ardilla, para devolverlos a la vida salvage, respetando siempre sus ritmos y decisiones. Vivirás sin comodidades y con desafíos, pero aprenderás a convivir con la selva y cuidar a los animales con amor y respeto. Cada día es una oportunidad para observarlos de cerca y conectar con la naturaleza. Es una experiencia que enseña, emociona y deja una huella profunda en el corazón. ¡Recomendado! Sin embargo, solo queríamos aclarar que el voluntariado fue en El parque Nacional Pilón Lajas, no en Madidi. Es fácil confundirse, ya que ambos lugares son igualmente parecidos y especiales.

We had the opportunity to spend an exciting and intense time at 'the project.' It's a unique experience to spend time with the monkeys in the jungle and accompany them on their journey back to the wild, cut off from the outside world. We truly enjoyed the special sense of peace and slowing down that it offered. It's important to be aware that the camp is located in the jungle, with no electricity and basic accommodation. The hygiene conditions can be challenging at times. However, if you embrace it, you can have a truly great experience!

We had an unforgettable four weeks at the project. We worked 5-6 hours a day with the monkeys and other animals that roam freely in the jungle all day, which is truly unique. Being able to accompany them on their journey to a free life is an incredible experience. Fred and the entire team are extremely dedicated. Living with 15-25 other volunteers super smoothly. In the evenings, the volunteers cook for the whole group, and at lunchtime, Teresa from the community prepares the meal. We enjoyed living without electricity and internet. We would 100% recommend the project.

O projeto foi uma das experiências mais lindas que eu tive na vida. Localizada em meio à floresta amazônica e às margens do Rio Beni, é surpreendente. O trabalho com os animais é muito bonito e recompensador, assim como sentir-se parte deste sistema e ser responsável por cuidar de vidas silvestres. Vá preparado/a para trabalhar bastante, além de cuidar dos animais, é uma vida comum onde também precisamos cuidar da casa, cozinhar, etc, fora do horário do turno. Não tem luxo, não são férias. Sou grato por esta oportunidade, por tudo o que aprendi e as pessoas que conheci. Recomendo!

Amazing experience, still there taking care of the monkeys . Everybody is working together towards the objective of giving the monkey a really great monkey life . Do not choose this volunteering if you need an animal pic, do it if you really want to help them , care for them and see them free and happy in a high tree one day . This volunteering is very rewarding but also not easy . A lot of humidity, heat and mosquitoes. Be sure to be fit before coming so you have a nice stay . Would recommend 200%

This experience is unique, you learn all about taking care of the animals in the middle of the jungle! It is a very life changing experience, but there are some safety issues. First of all, don't expect scientific work, the host is self-educated on how to care for the animals. One concerning point is safety and hygiene. Most of us ended up really sick with parasites and salmonella, as well as others before us. The suggestions we gave for more hand sanitizer or avoid soap bars that sit in their dirt, and to test the filtered water we drink were not listened to at all. Good luck.
