I had such a good time in Lagos and met some amazing people. The hostel is chill, clean, the people are friendly and it's super near the beach. The work is reasonable, it's split between two shifts one in the morning cleaning and one in the evening doing check-ins at reception. Tiago is the best boss ever, really cool. Missing it already. Would totally recommend!!

If you want to stay in a small beach town with the best host ever, stay here. Everything is walking distance, the hostel location is absolutely perfect. 5 min walk to the bars, any market, restaurant, beach, and anything else to do is also walkable such as Ponta de Piedade. The work is very reasonable, as long as you get it done you are given so much free time after. Tiago is also so incredibly nice and welcoming. I felt very at ease here. Tasks include reception during afternoon or night, and morning cleaning. All of the tasks are split up so no one feels they are doing one thing.

Estar en el hostel fue increíble! Tiago es un excelente anfitrión, amable, flexible y estaba pendiente de todos, organiza el horario de tal manera que todos tengamos un balance entre los turnos de la mañana, la tarde y el día libre. Las tareas son sencillas, el hostal es pequeño y facilita la limpieza de todo el lugar y una vez terminar de realizarla, eres libre para ir a la playa o conocer los alrededores. Y en la noche luego del turno de la tarde puedes disfrutar la vida nocturna. Consejo: Hagan las cosas bien hechas y na la carrera, Go big or go home. Gracias Tiago

I can totally recommend working at the hostel! Thiago is very kind und a good organiser, always checks with us if there is any problem! Lagos is beautiful, you can go surfing, kayaking,... or just spend every day at the amazing beaches, like I did :) In the time I was there, many guests were older than usual. But I could still make friends and had great conversations with people my age (I am 18), there were just fewer than I am used to in hostels. And there are always other volunteers, which is great! Work is quite easy, I really enjoyed the reception shift! I wish I stayed longer!

Tiago is very polite and tries his best! But I want to be honest. The conditions didn't work out for me. We didn't get beed sheets provided the way I know them. You don't have a lot if privacy in the bathroom. You can't close the toilets properly. And that one room for the volunteers is in very bad conditions. It's a mattress on the floor. The only thing that is included is the bed. No food. And for the work I didn't pay off for me.

For the very short amount of time I could see that Fiona is a very nice and kind person but I would have really appreciated her to have been honest when she told me why she wanted to leave, since she did not complaint about any of those things mention above but the reason given to me was instead that we weren't a party hostel and that was what she was looking for.
Starting with the conditions, I am very clear about how everything works when we talked on the phone, I do not hide anything from no one, I said the one room for one volunteer is a very small room practically just a bed in it and it is true that right now is just a mattress but I also said that at the end of March it was gonna be changed for a "proper" bed.
The way I provide sheets is by giving them clean for the guest/volunteer to put them on their own bed as they want, the bathroom has a door that can be locked if you want full privacy. And finally the job application has written what I offer, which is a bed and use of all the facilities and services of the hostel so not having food included should not be an issue because it was never offered to begin with.

I had a great time with Tiago & the other volunteers at the hostel :) Great location to be staying, right in the centre of town and nice and close to walk to the beaches.

The hostel and Lagos became my home for 1 month and it was definitely one of the best months of my life. The vibe in that place is wonderful, the hostel is small and quiet, has an excellent location, the most beautiful beaches and everything are close. The tasks at the reception are very simple to learn, and I also made very good friends inside the hostel. I left Lagos just because I already had other plans but I would love to return again. Bianca and Tiago are excellent hosts, thank you very much for everything :) Don't forget that you have a house and a friend in Mexico! :)
