WOOFF Langkawi

We are dog sanctuary giving a second chance to dogs injured, abused or abandoned on this small island off the coast of mainland Malaysia. Our sanctuary is nestled into the jungle allowing guests to fully immerse themselves in nature.
The sanctuary has a strict no kill policy and operates entirely to give dogs that would not get a second chance at life, a second chance. If you are an animal lover and are happy to get your hands dirty in return for free accommodation, unlimited puppy love and kisses then volunteering at WOOFF is for you.

My name is Jeffrey Tan, I am an animal behaviourist and native of Malaysia. I am initially from the old capital of Malacca but upon visiting Langkawi on holiday almost 20 years ago, I noticed the need for a dog sanctuary here and what was a holiday turned into settling down and starting a safe haven for dogs. Volunteering with me is quite simple, if you put the work in and treat my place and dogs with love, care and respect then we will get along very well. Please don't think that life at the sanctuary is a walk in the park, it can be hard work but the rewards of time with the dogs, for me makes it worth it. Feel free to stay as long as you wish provided you're happy to put your fair share of the work in.

The experience itself is really nice, you get to spend a lot of time surrounded by doggies and learn about and with them. The dogs are super cute and you get to experience them being more and more confortable around you.

The hours of the experience are intense and most of the days it’s a full day of work, you really get immersed in it.
