SenCLIP ( Senegal Culture Language Immersion Program)

I am a social and sharing and caring gentleman passionated with languages,teaching and cultural immersion. As a language teacher, I'm also offering transcription-translation services; I'm really in the Language Industry & I like connecting people through cultural-language immersion projects. Social work is also an interest for me to help people feel happy and cared. I enjoy being helpful to others. I like serving communities to make our human interaction a better approach to train better citizens. Mostly the staff is University students with whom I enjoy working on our projects. My volunteers are always treated well and they deserve much consideration and respect. Friendly and caring manners in a warm welcome will give you happiness beyond the lovely work to enjoy together. La experiencia fue maravillosa, estuve dos semanas en Yayem, sitio en el que conectas con la naturaleza, puedes ir descalzo a todos los lados ya que los caminos son de arena, y toda la gente es increíble, como una gran familia. Pero no recomendaría este voluntariado a una persona que no hable francés fluidamente, ya que nadie habla inglés.
Por otra parte, tiene que mejorar la organización del voluntariado, tardaron 3 semanas en contestarme cuando ya estaba próxima la fecha para viajar, y el día de marchar, cuando iba a coger mi vuelo de vuelta, mi taxi aún no estaba reservado.

I had an issue and couldn’t make it to Senegal. I informed Mohamadou more than month in advance, and he kept assuring me from the very beginning that I would be refunded. At first, he said it would take a few days, then a few weeks, then by the end of the week… and now, I’ve had no news at all. He promised I’d get my money back, but my messages are no longer opened or read. I haven’t heard anything since. It’s really disappointing that it’s come to this. In the very first email, it was clearly stated that in case of any issue, a refund would be provided, don’t believe that. Be careful.

Great experience with SenCLIP. Would definitely agree that it is complete cultural immersion. Both the community and family were unbelievable. Mohamadou lives in the USA, and organised from abroad. Having said this, he can find a good position that suits each volunteer. Thank you for the experience!

I spent three weeks in Fimela and the host family was the highlight of my stay. They welcomed me warmly and made me feel at home, sharing their daily life and culture. Another very special part was the time with the kids: around 15-25 children full of energy and joy. We painted, danced, played and laughed together every day, and those moments gave me so much in return. Living simply, close to nature and surrounded by such people, made this a truly meaningful experience.

Volunteering at Centre Xam-Xamle in Fimela has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. The host family was incredibly welcoming, caring, and reliable. From the very beginning, I felt very safe and loved. At the school, I participated in the Summer Camp, which included 3 hours in the morning with the younger kids (ages 4-12), and 2 hours in the afternoon with the older ones (ages 12-16). We did French and art in the morning, and English and Spanish in the afternoon. The students are wonderful, eager to learn and full of joy. I wholeheartedly recommend this experience to everyone!
