Rougey Lodge
Do you want to spend Summer surfing on the beautiful West Coast? Then come and join our hostel team! In exchange for 20 hours of work a week you get free staff accommodation, surfboard and wetsuit hire, surf lessons, BBQ use, and lots of fun!

Rougey Lodge is a easygoing surf lodge on the West Coast of Ireland. The staff team is a great mix of Irish and backpackers from around the world, who all love to surf, hang out, and explore the beautiful coastline where we live! Many of us have worked in other countries and other hostels so we know what it takes to run a fun one, while we love the enthusiasm and friendliness of team members who are volunteering for the first time!

I had an amazing time volunteering at the surf lodge in Bundoran! Everyone was incredibly nice and welcoming . It’s a perfect place if you want to learn how to surf, and it’s also ideal if you’re looking for some peace and quiet since it’s a small, relaxing town. The work hours are very manageable, so you have plenty of free time to enjoy the waves or even take weekend trips on your days off. Thank you to everyone who made my stay so special. Overall, it was a great experience, and I truly hope to come back at some point. :)

Awesome experience with a great bunch of people. Had a wonderful stay, the work is fair and the other volunteers are super chill and friendly. Learning to surf in my free time was super easy and fun here. I’ll be back here at some point for sure, thanks for the opportunity Monia!

I spent two months volunteering at the surf hostel in Bundoran and it was an unforgettable experience.
From day one, Monia, Coalan and all the team made me feel part of the family, always full of positive energy and ready to help with anything.
The atmosphere at the hostel is unique: volunteers and guests quickly become friends to share laughs, surf sessions and unforgettable moments with.
A place with a truly special vibe and amazing people. Highly recommended!

Very fair amount of work asked, the tasks are very easy and the schedule is very flexible.
I really enjoyed my stay here, the team was very welcoming and so nice.
There's a lot of regular customer from different countries that allowed me to practice my English and a little bit of Spanish.
I'm very greatfull for this experience.

Foi a melhor escolha que fiz ter voluntariado no hostel, conheci pessoas maravilhosas dentro e fora do local, a cidade é linda, a praia fica do lado do hostel e tem paisagens maravilhosas.
As horas de trabalho são justas e flexíveis e a Monia (host) foi super receptiva, atenciosa e sempre ajudou em tudo que eu precisei.
