Our two Centers, The Rise Above Foundation Community Center, and The Rise Above Foundation Family Care Center are some of the best places to volunteer in Cebu if you want to work with children, teens, and the very needy in the Philippines.

We are a small group of very dedicated people running the Rise Above Foundation Cebu, with a small staff of very dedicated people helping us. We have volunteers from all over with whom you can interact and improve your perspective on the world.

It’s Just Amazing experience
Thanks Adi and everyone else for the experience and wonderful time
All the local kids and their moms will be there from morning until evening, and they are just so friendly and nice
They cook every day, food and distributed
And we had a chance to go to the mountain village to deliver some clothes.

I was there only for seven days
But it was really amazing experience. I recommend everyone to go there.

Such a wonderful place to volunteer. I had the best time with the kids. Allows for you to initiate how you'd like to interact with the kids; use your talents to see what would best connect you with them! Can be very busy and full on but so enjoyable and fulfilling. I'm very lucky to have spent a lot of time with everyone. Grateful for our host Adi, she is extremely hard working and hospitable. Would love to come back.

My First International Volunteer Experience
Volunteering with Rise Above marked an incredible introduction to international service, offering a meaningful opportunity to engage with the local community and gain insight into the daily lives of its people.I am sincerely grateful to world packers and to our host, Adi, for making this experience possible.The education and fun experiences provided to each child and parents is truly inspiring.I will always carry with me the memories of the children whose warmth and resilience truly touched my heart.

It was such a nice experience; I really connected with the kids and people there. It's so good to contribute and help the children, getting to know them better. You also learn a lot about how things work in the community and more about local culture. I had a room with AC and comfortable bed.There were 3 daily meals, and they made sure to give me many vegetarian options (which I wasn't expecting!) You are free to play with the kids at any time, and you have break times, so you can volunteer for the scheduled hours or do extra, it's up to you. 1 week is not enough, stay longer. I miss you all!!!

I stayed only a week but I experienced so much. Overall, it was wonderful and I'd recommend it to anyone interested.

I was at the Community center, located by a slum area. In the mornings, I had class with pre school kids and then played with the kids around for the rest of the day. I also joined a food sharing activity.

The kids are absoutely lovely and as you spend time there you get to learn about their reality and yours. It makes you think.

However, know that this is ofc not a hotel and that it's not stricly 15 hours. It's intense but meaningful.
