Hurricane Hostel

We are awesome! Our smaller boutique style makes this place feel like a home away from home. Where the guests regularly say that it feels like hanging out at a friend's house. Grab a drink, meet some people, and have some kind of adventure. Between national parks, multiple islands, historical landmarks, amazing nightlife, and some pretty great food, this is a city you can easily spend two weeks at as a regular guest and still not get to see and experience all we have to offer.

Our staff has decades of tourism, hospitality, and accommodation experience. We have traveled all over the world and believe in an environment of inclusivity, openness, and security. Our highest priority is to make sure everyone feels safe, because it is only after you feel safe before you can really find out who you are. Our volunteers will help supplement our current staff and can always rely on someone here to help them get through any of the day's activities. We are a team and believe in what we do and will always be around to see it through.

Had the best time at the hostels this october! The owners Aaron and Ashley are amazing, along with the rest of the staff. The work is fairly easy and exactly as expected! Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to explore split and surrounding areas/ islands

This was a great first volunteering experience! You are really able to experience Split and surrounding areas while still working! The staff is super great and welcoming and the work was good and reasonable.

I had a great time, the Team is really welcoming and nice!
The work is easy and you have a lot of time to explore split and the islands around.
But if you want to explore Croatia and meet locals this is not the place, because it really is full of tourists and everybody is talking English.
But I definitely had fun and felt comfortable in the hostels, thank you :)

I loved my time at Hurricane/ Empire hostel. All the staff were lovely and working hours were always respected and easy to plan your day around. The workload was very simple and tasks were easy to manage, and communication between staff and volunteers was great. Great to meet other travellers and enjoy Split. Hope to be back soon :)

I had an amazing time volunteering at hurricane/empire! The workload was good, I had plenty of free time to explore split or around it. Aaron and Ashley are genuinely amazing and make sure you feel comfortable from day 1, and are also very open to comunication at all times. I met so many people and made unforgettable memories here! Hope to be back one day <3
