Amy was great, understood any tasks with ease and worked very well independently. She got along with both the staff and guests great and produced great photos and other media for social media. Unfortunately she did heave to leave early due to personal reasons however she communicated clearly around this and kept us up to date as much as possible. We would 100% have her back

I had a great experience at the hostel! Unfortunately I had to leave early due to a death in the family and the team was very understanding. I met some amazing people travelling through and the tasks were very reasonable. Wish I could have stayed longer and I hope to return one day in the future!

Amy was awesome! She was bright, funny and chatty and made everyone around her happy. She was a great host to her group and was proactive, grateful and collaborative. We loved having her at the finca and we'd highly recommend her to other Worldpackers hosts. Pura vida!

I had an absolutely amazing experience at the eco village! Rebe and Rob were incredible hosts and we learned so much during our time there. Would definitely recommend you explore this part of Costa Rica!

We couldn't be happier about Amy's staying with us. She was our social media manager and content creator, and she did an amazing job. We told her our ideas and she she caught it straight away making the lots of photos and videos. But the best about Amy was her personality, super nice and always willing to help the team and the rest of guests. Thank you Amy, we hope to see you soon again

I had a great experience volunteering at the hostel! I was handling the Instagram account and felt like the work was fair. I made great friends with the other volunteers and guests and have to say it's the best volunteer experience I've done so far with Worldpackers. Going to miss everyone and hope to be back soon!

Background

Education

I completed a degree in English & Communication Studies at McMaster University in Hamilton, ON (Canada) in 2017. I also completed an exchange program where I spent a semester studying abroad in Melbourne, Australia and completed a TEFL certification to teach English.

Work experience

I've had a wide range of work experience over the years. My first job ever was as a gymnastics coach and that's when I discovered how much I loved working with children. Throughout high school and University, I was an English tutor, served at a few bars and restaurants and worked at a gym.

Since completing my degree, I've been working in the SEO and copywriting space. I moved back to Melbourne, Australia in 2018 and gained my initial work experience there at SEO and creative marketing agencies. When I returned to Canada I worked in writing and social media. For the past year and a half, I've been working mostly as a freelance writer and travel content creator!

Travel experience

My travels began in 2016 on my way to study abroad in Australia. I fell in love immediately with discovering new places and now I've been to about 20 countries! I teach people how to travel on a tight budget and how to work remotely so they can travel more.
