How to participate in Ecological Projects in South America
There are hundreds of ecological projects in South America that need help with gardening, planting, harvesting, and bio-construction, among other tasks in nature. From coastal permaculture sites to cacao farms in the mountains, all that you need to do it apply to one of these exchange opportunities. You don’t even need to go far to work on farms abroad. Argentina, Chile, Colombia and Peru are home to some of the top hosts in the Worldpackers community.
Tips for participating in projects in South America
Always keep the purpose of your trip in mind and how you want to help. If your focus is to learn about permaculture, there are hosts where teaching is part of the experience. If your idea is to participate in nature preservation initiatives, there are other places you can help, mainly in scattered areas of deforestation and environmental reserves. Think about what you want to learn and take away from your trip and choose your project with that in mind.
