Passei 4 dias no mosteiro e foi muito bom para descansar, quarto confortavel e limpo. Cozinha perfeita e as comidas muito deliciosas ( o cafe da mnha é bem diferente com arroz e dhal) e muitas frutas tropicais a vontade. Os monges foram bem gentis. A unica dificuldade é que o clima local é muito quente e temos que usar roupas que cobrem todo o corpo....

I had the most amazing experience volunteering at the Center. I spent 5 days volunteering and it's an experience I'll never forget. We were welcomed with so much warmth and kindness from the moment we arrived. I was able to fully immerse myself in Sri Lankan culture and the Center so much about Buddhism. I loved that everyday we got to experience new activities, Sunday school with the children was one of my favourite activities. It was amazing to see how much the Bhantes truly cared about their community and all the amazing work they do! Thank you for the amazing experience!

This was my favourite thing I did in Sri Lanka and the best way to fully immerse yourself into the true Sri Lankan culture and the Center about their religion in the process! I learned so much about monks and Buddhism that I didn't know before and we were welcomed into the temple with so much kindness!! The food and hospitality is amazing, the kind of experiences you get to do here you would never get on a 'tourist' route! Sri Lankan culture was so friendly and I really really enjoyed feeling so welcomed!

Bhanta Wasa was such a hospitable and unique person. The experience was 10 out of 10! it was great to connect to local people adn know more about budhism. highly recommend it!

My 5 day long experience truly was a 10/10!! I learned so much about Buddhism, Sri Lanka's history and culture and loved all the different activities! We also had the opportunity to visit many temples and practise different forms of meditation, and we even visited a school where we could teach english to the children and a pineapple farm where we could pick our own pineapples! The food was great and the people very nice and helpful! Definetely recommend it :)

My experience volunteering here was truly unforgettable. From the very beginning I felt warmly welcomed by all the bhantes. I was invited to take part in ceremonies, connect with locals, and enjoy the most delicious food. I also had the chance to help prepare and distribute meals for families affected by the cyclone. Bhante Wasa was an incredible host. He patiently answered my questions about Buddhism. I also had the opportunity to practice my meditation. The temple itself is beautiful, the room was very comfortable, and the facilities are modern. I highly recommend this experience!

This was such a beautiful experience, I will always be grateful for the week and a half I spent here. I highly recommend if you want to get an inside look into Sri Lankan culture, the Center more about the Center practices and how to apply them in your life, engage with community in an authentic way, or if you're looking for somewhere peaceful to reflect. It is immediately obvious how much the Bhantes care about this project and their community, I felt so welcomed and cared for here. The food was home cooked and incredible, and accommodation was better than I could've asked for!

Staying with Banthe Wasa was one in a lifetime experience. I got the chance to get to know more about Buddhism and its core beliefs and how buddihst monks live their everyday lives. The schedule was very flexible: each day I was free to join different activities, (teaching English to kids, joining the monks for events at private houses or other temples, or meditation). It was truly inspiring, being immersed in local life, and also gave me the opportunity to take a break from my busy life schedule. You'll be immersed in nature but you can easily reach the city centre by tuktuk. Recommended <3

The setting and the people are awesome. I felt welcome in their community and they gave me a unique insight in the life and work of the Center monks. In return, I gave some English classes and help on the land. It was a quiet and peaceful environment, perfect for meditation, reflection and contemplation.

This was an amazing experience, with some of the kindest, most welcoming people I've ever met. I felt completely immersed in the local community, and I learnt so much about Buddhism and meditation. I was also given many opportunities to join various activities, and everyday brought something different. The homestay temple is peaceful and surrounded by nature, and the Bhantes were so friendly and welcoming - I felt genuinely cared for during my the Center. The food was delicious and always plentiful! I will never forget my time here, and would definitely recommend this experience
