Here’s how the Volunteer Experience in Arusha works:
1️⃣ Application & Confirmation
Share your dates and interests (education, health, disability support, women empowerment, etc.).
Once accepted, you’ll receive all the details to prepare for your journey.
2️⃣ Arrival & Airport Pickup
Warm welcome at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) ✈️.
Smooth transfer to Arusha to start your adventure.
3️⃣ Orientation
Learn about local culture, safety, language basics, and project details.
Meet your fellow volunteers and coordinators 🤝.
4️⃣ Accommodation & Meals
Stay in a homestay or volunteer house 🏡.
Enjoy 3 delicious meals a day (breakfast, lunch & dinner).
5️⃣ Project Placement
Based on your skills and passions, you’ll contribute to:
🎓 Teaching in schools
🌈 Supporting children with disabilities
💪 Women empowerment activities
🏥 Health education
📸 Social media & fundraising support
6️⃣ Cultural Exchange & Travel

Volunteer Shifts:
⏰ Morning: 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM
⏰ Afternoon: 2:00 PM – 4:30 PM
Monday to Friday (around 20 hours/week)
Weekends free for travel, rest, or safaris 🦓🌴
Shifts may vary depending on project needs.
Regras
To ensure a safe, respectful, and positive environment, volunteers are asked to follow these guidelines:
🙏 Respect Local Culture & Customs – Dress modestly and be open to cultural differences.
⏳ Be Punctual & Committed – Arrive on time, and notify if you can’t attend.
🚫 No Alcohol or Drugs – Not allowed on project sites or in volunteer housing.
🧼 Maintain Cleanliness – Keep spaces tidy and help with basic chores.
📸 Respect Privacy – Ask permission before sharing photos or personal info.
🚶 No Unauthorized Absence – Inform your coordinator if you plan to travel.
🤝 Work as a Team – Be supportive and collaborative with staff and peers.
⚖️ Follow Local Laws – Abide by Tanzanian regulations at all times.
🛡️ Child Protection Policy – Ensure safe, respectful interactions with children; no abuse, neglect, or inappropriate behavior is tolerated.
📌 A full orientation on rules, culture, and safeguarding is provided upon arrival.
