Your role is simple but powerful:

-Create a friendly, welcoming vibe for everyone.

-Help organize and join our social events (games, karaoke, DJ nights, cocktails).

-Chat with travelers, make them feel at home

-Support our bar team

🌟 What we expect from you (our Worldpacker)

Be social and outgoing: smile, chat, and make travelers feel welcome from the moment they arrive.

Join and host activities: help us run social events like trivia, karaoke, DJ nights, and cocktail evenings—don’t worry, we’ll guide you.

Support at the bar & lounge: occasionally help with serving drinks, keeping common areas tidy, and making sure everyone is having a great time.

Share local tips: recommend cenotes, street food, and things to do in Valladolid—you’ll quickly become the “local friend” everyone remembers.

Positive energy: this role is not about hard work—it’s about creating a vibe, being approachable, and helping people connect.

Atividades & Turnos

✅ Daily Activity Checklist – Social & Fun Ambassador

Before Events / Afternoon (~16:00–18:00)

Check hostel social board & update tonight’s activity (trivia, karaoke, DJ, cocktails, games, etc.).

Spread the word! Invite guests personally, encourage sign-ups, share in WhatsApp/IG if needed.

Help the team set up the common area or terrace (tables, music, lights, clean vibes).

Assist with preparing bar snacks or welcome drinks if included.

During Events / Evening (~19:00–22:00)

Host or co-host the activity with staff (explain rules, encourage participation, keep energy high).

Help at the bar: serve drinks, collect glasses, keep things tidy.

Talk to guests—make sure everyone feels included, especially solo travelers.

Take photos/videos for socials (optional but encouraged!).

After Events (~22:00–23:00)

Assist with basic clean-up (common spaces, glasses, bottles).

Thank guests, invite them to tomorrow’s plan.

Quick report to staff: how many joined, vibe, suggestions.

🕒 Shifts & Hours

Total weekly commitment: ~22 hours.

Days: 5 days a week (2 days off, flexible).

Shift length: ~4–5 hours per day.

Rotating schedule (set weekly, flexible with availability). Example:

Shift Example A (Afternoon/Evening)

16:00–21:00 → Activity prep + hosting + bar support

Shift Example B (Evening Only)

18:30–23:00 → Event hosting + bar support + clean-up

🎯 Key Notes for Volunteers

You’ll never work early mornings—shifts are afternoon/evening only.

Schedule is made weekly, adapting to hostel events and your availability.

Always guaranteed 2 days off per week to explore cenotes, ruins, and the town.

Hours are capped at ~22 per week; this is more about social vibe than hard labor.


Regras

📝 House Rules for Worldpackers at New Friends Hostel

To keep our hostel safe, fun, and respectful for everyone, we ask all volunteers to follow these simple rules:

🚭 No smoking inside the hostel.

🍺 No outside alcohol—we have our own bar with affordable drinks and special discount for volunteers (same as stores).

🚫 No unauthorized visitors inside dorms or staff areas.

💊 Zero tolerance for drugs or any illegal substances.

🤝 Respect is key—no harassment, bullying, or discrimination of any kind.

🕒 Be on time for your shifts and communicate if something comes up.

🛏️ Respect hostel spaces—keep common areas tidy and noise levels friendly after quiet hours.

👉 Following these rules ensures a positive, safe, and social vibe for volunteers, staff, and travelers alike. Anyone who breaks them may be asked to leave the program.
