Get a hands-on experience at our Integrated Farm
A experiência
I started La Esperanza project about 3 years ago, with the vision of implementing what I have learned and taught for over 30 years.
Our project is a comprehensive educational farm that supports those seeking a life more connected to the earth. Here you'll learn by doing: participate in real-life farm tasks, share knowledge with the community, and discover how to apply sustainability principles to your own life.

Detalhes
My name is Alex. I am an Agronomical Engineer with a Master’s degree in Natural Resource Management and a PhD in Sustainable Agriculture from a prestigious German university. I have over 30 years of experience as a learning facilitator and in alternative education methodologies.
I lead the creation and implementation process of our project, a Comprehensive Educational Farm, alongside an interdisciplinary group of friends and colleagues who share this vision.
Atividades & Turnos
Our day starts at 7:00 am by feeding the members of the farm: Chickens, Sheep, Pigs, Rabbits, Fishes, and Ducks. During the morning (after feeding the animals and preparing breakfast), we do necessary jobs that the farm needs such as horticultural tasks, gardening, general maintenance, agricultural tasks, etc. During the afternoon and evening, we carry on projects based volunteers’ skills and interests. For example, flora and fauna conservation in the area, ecotourism activities, working with social media, and any other fresh idea that you might bring! Towards the end of the afternoon, we finish the day by feeding the animals.
My experience in the field will allow you to learn not only the theory but also the hands-on experience. I have a great interest in sustainability as a form of living; sharing what I know is part of my vision of life. Therefore, we expect volunteers that are eager to learn and actively participate in our project, and of course, to live in a farm.
Regras
We have a small house dedicated to volunteers. The house consist of two bedrooms, one full bathroom, kitchen area (supplies and silverware), dinning table, a small cupboard, and laundry machine. We have space for 4 people maximum (two individual beds in each room).
Food supplies will be provided to volunteers for the week; they are expected to prepare their own meals. However, bring special supplies that you might consider necessary for yourself. Occasionally, we will share a meal together.
We are a family that live in a peaceful farm, produce our own food, and share our experience with volunteers. We are looking for those who want to obtain experience, share their time, and enjoy the beautiful environment we are surrounded by.
