Detalhes

At Agger Hostel, volunteers join a warm, family-run team in a peaceful coastal village between the North Sea, a fjord, and Denmark’s first national park. Volunteers help with daily tasks like cleaning, breakfast, gardening, and maintenance, working about 4 hours a day.

Our program offers more than work – it’s about slowing down, connecting with nature, and becoming part of a small, welcoming community. Whether it’s busy summer or quiet winter, you’ll find meaningful experiences, fresh air, and time to explore the stunning surroundings.

We welcome curious, open-minded people who want to contribute, learn, and enjoy a simple, sustainable lifestyle with us.

Atividades & Turnos

Volunteers typically work about 4 hours per day, 5 days a week. Your main tasks include:

Cleaning guest rooms and common areas

Helping with breakfast preparation and tidying up afterward

Gardening and maintaining outdoor areas

Assisting with small maintenance and repair tasks

During the winter season, the focus shifts more towards maintenance and outdoor work rather than cleaning.

Work is usually done in the mornings, leaving plenty of time in the afternoon to relax, explore the local nature, or develop personal projects.

We aim to match tasks to each volunteer’s interests and skills, ensuring a meaningful and enjoyable experience.

Regras

At Agger Hostel, we truly value the help and energy our volunteers bring. We always make sure to follow Danish laws around volunteering – and we want you to feel informed and safe during your stay.

Here’s a quick overview of what’s important to know:

✅ Volunteering is non-paid
We don’t offer salary, but we provide free accommodation and meals during your stay. This is fully legal and part of cultural exchange, not employment.

📅 Work is limited to 4-5 hours a day
Volunteering is part-time and flexible. We focus on creating a fair and relaxed rhythm, with time to explore the area and enjoy life by the sea.

🌍 Visa and legal stay

If you're from an EU/EEA country, you're free to volunteer without a visa.

If you're from outside the EU/EEA (e.g. Brazil, USA, Canada), you must have a valid visa or residence permit.

A regular tourist visa does not legally allow volunteering unless the stay is very short (less than 4 weeks and not work-like).

We always recommend checking your travel status and asking us if you're unsure – we're happy to help!

🛟 Insurance and responsibility
We expect volunteers to have their own travel insurance. You’ll be treated with care and respect – and we aim to create a safe, welcoming space for everyone.

Volunteering with us is about community, learning, nature, and cultural exchange – not just work. If that speaks to you, we’d love to welcome you to Agger.
