A experiência

We are restoring a beautiful old stazzu (an heritage traditional Sardinian rural stone house) that’s over 300 years old. We're turning it into a living, breathing part of our regenerative village.
We’re looking for someone with building skills, who enjoys working with their hands and has experience (or strong motivation to learn) in natural or rustic construction.

Detalhes

As a volunteer, you will support us in the restoration of a historic rural house and the creation of new common structures (outdoor kitchen, compost toilet, shaded areas, etc.).
We offer food and accommodation in exchange for 25 hours of help per week (5 hours/day, 5 days/week).
We expect clear communication, mutual respect, and shared care for the spaces and tools.
We’re a family-based community project — flexibility, kindness, and a sense of humor are welcome! :)

Atividades & Turnos

You’ll be part of the physical transformation of a special place — restoring an ancient stazzu (Sardinian stone house) and shaping new communal spaces that will serve as the heart of our educational and regenerative project.

We work mostly with natural and salvaged materials, combining traditional techniques with practical innovation. This is not a commercial renovation — it’s a slow, intentional, handmade process that values presence and quality over speed.

Depending on your skills and the ongoing phase, your work may include:

Stone masonry and small walls

Laying pipes, cement screed, drainage and waterproofing

Carpentry & roofing with wood and recycled beams

Building a compost toilet

Helping create a simple outdoor kitchen

Interior works: natural plaster, lime, finishes

Organizing the workshop and tools

Shifts:

We work 5 days/week, 4–5 hours per day. Some days we work together, some days you might be more autonomous.
Here’s what a typical day might look like:

8:00–9:00: Breakfast and morning circle (if shared)

9:00–13:00: Building tasks (stonework, wood, pipes, plaster, etc.)

13:00–14:00: Shared lunch

Afternoons are free for rest, walks, beach, reading, or playing with the kids :)

One or two afternoons per week, we may invite you to join optional activities: foraging, circles, music, or sunset at the beach.

Regras

We live simply, and expect everyone to respect this rhythm:

Keep common spaces clean and tidy

Handle tools and materials with care — always ask if unsure

No smoking indoors (and be mindful around children)

Compost toilet: follow instructions (we’ll show you how)

No loud music unless shared (we often play live music or sing together!)

Be open, honest, and speak up if something doesn’t feel right

If you can’t join a shift, let us know — we’re human :)

Come with a good heart — this is a home, not a construction site
