I do not recommend this experience unless you are a major extrovert who enjoys nonstop party. Myself and 2 other volunteers were let go after 4 days for “not partying hard enough”. Came to find out after I left that the manager simply didn't like us… still not sure why. The food was edible at best, manager acknowledged this on day 1 and said it is what it is. Overall, if you're someone who thrives on social interaction and loves to party, this is the perfect volunteer for you. But be warned, if you sit down for 15 seconds on the bus, you will be let go (even if it's your first day working)

We cannot recommend you as a volunteer, Payton. Although you were kind in person, your review contains false statements that misrepresent us, which is disappointing and unfair.

Our many positive reviews show the real experience volunteers have here. In your case, the role simply wasn’t a good fit, despite the 20-minute call in which we clearly explained all expectations.

My stay at the hostel was fun, with volcano boarding, socializing, pub crawls, karaoke, beer pong, etc. The staff & volunteers were friendly, and the food was good. There was a fun hike to Volcán Telica. However, the party atmosphere can be draining. As a volunteer, you'll join in five days a week, and the repetitive schedule gets old. The volunteer dorm was really messy. I burnt out and left early. Be cautious partying in León—my phone was stolen, and two volunteers were violently assaulted. The police offers no help. Overall, I'd recommend it for party-loving travelers in their early 20s.

The hostel really became my home away from home. From day one I felt like I belonged and there wasn't a single moment I questioned that. The work was fun and didn't feel like work at all because no matter what I did I always made friends along the way. And how many people can say their job is volcano lol. They are super flexible and supportive because even when I had to spend two nights in the hospital I knew everyone was just one text away. Would definitely recommend and i am for sure coming back eventually 🩷

I loved every second of this experience! the hostel is a magical place where I met people that I'll carry for the rest of my life… the activities are SUPER FUN (hats off to volcano boarding) and Nunu is just the best! What a great team to work with, I highly recommend the hostel to everyone who wants to get memorable moments!

I really loved my time at the hostel, a true home away from home! But I gotta say it is a lot you don't have much privacy and you really gotta be a big extrovert! Thank you some much for this amazing experience, especially to Nunu🫶🏼

Volunteering at the hostel in Leon was definitely an experience I would do again. What started as a two-week stay quickly turned into two unforgettable months! From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed by an amazing group of volunteers and friendly locals who made me feel like part of a family. Every day was filled with laughs, hard work, and endless fun. The hostel itself has such an incredible vibe, and it quickly became my second home. One of the absolute highlights was getting to go volcano boarding an adrenaline rush I'll never forget. Gotta love nunu & her big orange heart 🧡

Uno de los mejores voluntariados que tuve la suerte de encontrar, me hicieron sentir como en casa a penas llegue y las tareas que te piden a cambio son súper divertidas como acompañar huespedes a la playa, al volcan o simplemente hacer y ser la fiesta.. Super recomendado, gracias por tantooo ♥️

Absolutely loved everything about my time at the hostel and will be going back as soon as I can. Not only was the work exchange and the volunteer team just the best ever, it was truly the most social hostel I've ever had stayed in and it felt like one big family. Everyone really looks out for each other and Leon Nicaragua overall will have a special place in my heart forever because of the hostel. Nunu is the best!!

Un lugar de muchas actividades diarias Como el volcán, fiestas , playa. En general un ambiente muy grato con los voluntarios son personas con mucha energía. Si quieres fiesta y actividades este es el lugar 😄
